HELP EMPTY CHARLOTTE'S SHELTERSThrough Sunday, July 11th it's the summer Empty the Shelters event sponsored by the Bissell Pet Foundation. Empty the Shelters is a nationwide pet adoption initiative whose purpose is to help reduce the number of animals in shelters and rescues through pet adoption, spay and neuter programs, microchipping, and emergency support. To-date, Bissell Pet Foundation's effort have resulted in almost 54,000 adopted pets in 45 states and Canada. This summer there are some 186 participating shelters in 45 states offering reduced-fee adoptions of $25 or less. Animal shelters typically become overcrowded in the summer months because of spring litters. The summer effort to empty the shelters is very important, as a result, to relieve the overcrowding. Where To Find Yo...

Have any of you tried a Water Massage?  This is one of my favorite massages ever.   I used to have a massage, once a week and one of my favorites is the Water Massage.  I would highly recommend it to anyone. So, here is my story.  I was checking out fitness facilities, in the Rea Road area of Charlotte North Carolina.  I checked out the facility and I came across this unit.  The young lady acted surprised that I had never seen one.  I was like, I have to try this.  It was by far, one of the best massages I have ever experienced.  I give it 5 stars and I am going back for more.  I was experiencing water hitting my body from all directions but I stayed dry.  I will probably join the fitness facility just to enjoy the tanning booth and the water massage.  I enjoyed the water massage for abo...

FORMER BALLANTYNE GOLF COURSE NOW A 100-ACRE COMMUNITY PARK IN BALLANTYNE It might not be as large as New York City's 843-acre Central Park (my personal backyard for decades), but the new 100-acre Ballantyne Backyard Community Park on the site of the former Ballantyne Golf Course is a wonderful addition to Charlotte's Ballantyne area. Ballantyne’s Backyard is part of Northwood Investors’ grand plan, known as Ballantyne Reimagined, to transform a corporate park and golf course into a community hub and a walkable, urban environment. Multi-family residences and retail amenities are in the works. The 100 acre-park is set in the midst of the 535-acre Ballantyne Corporate Park, home to some 300 companies. More information about the Ballantyne Reimagined plans, click here. Ballantyne's Backya...

What is Networking and just how do you go about it? Who is ready to dive in deep with this?  I removed this out of a trash can, after a conference and someone saw me take it out of the trash can, and asked me why I was reverting to trash and dumpster diving?  I stated that this was not trash but a treasure.  What is one person's trash is another persons treasure.   Let's look at all the things someone needs in order to get married with wedding plans and look how we can help others who are getting ready to get married and look how deep this goes?  Brides need flowers, right?  Who do you know who is a florist?  Do brides need a dress?  Right? The bride and groom need a getaway car, right? Do the bride and groom need a church or a reception area and food?  Right?  Do you see how you can he...

Is your office chair comfortable and supportive enough, for you?  I am not referring to your relationship either.  Smiles.  I am referring to your chair.  Wink. How much time, do you spend in your office chair?  Whatever kind of chair you sit in or on, you want to make sure that it is meeting your needs.  Is it comfortable enough for you?  Is it supportive enough for you?  Does it have or offer Lumbar Support?  This photo above is a chair that I have in my office, that is so comfortable.  Even when your significant other is not supportive enough, you can always count on your chair.  Lol. For many years, I had an office chair that was not right for me and that was not supportive enough for my needs. I also slept on a bed/futon that was not supportive enough for me.  If you do not have th...

What does it feel like,  to own and operate your own business? Do people even understand, what it is like, to have a business and all the sacrifice that goes into it? Let's dive into this subject.   Some people I know, get up with the roosters and even before daylight, while others I know, stay up all night working on something, that has to do with their business. Sometimes I stay up all night writing articles about certain topics or working on paperwork or keeping up with the industry I am in to stay abreast of things that I need to be aware of. Do I sometimes doubt,  my mission?  There have been those days.  Yes!  Even though I do have my good and bad days, I do not give up.  The journey is sometimes long and hard but do not give up and associate with others who are positive.  Try to ...

Who remembers your first camera?  Who remembers getting your first camera:  I got my first camera in the early seventies and I have taken photos with it from all over the world.  This is my first camera and then I upgraded to other sophisticated cameras.  Cameras have come a long way and I love still pictures more than I like moving pictures but I do both.  I have a YouTube Channel with over 350 videos but I do not like doing videos as much as I do still photos.  Still, photos capture the moment in time and freeze the moment for me.  I will be introducing all of my worldwide photos to Active Rain with stories that will go along with photos.  Let me also tell you that I also had a Polaroid camera with instant photos but they never were like the real photos to me.  They were kind of blurr...

How soon can Mold attack fruits and vegetables? This was the client of mine who just got this orange from a grocery store some two days before and the attack has already started.  Imagine that.  Grocery stores should move the produce around regularly at the grocery store.  If they do not do this, the product will be attacked, like the above.  I suggest to grocery stores that not only keep the produced moved around regularly but also wipe the produce as well.   Something that I do that is helpful is to: put all fruits and vegetables in the sink and let them soak in a mixture of water, vinegar, soap, and baking soda.  Watch the interaction with the soap and vinegar and baking soda.  You will see a foaming action.  Do not be frightened.  This is normal and let things work for about 30 minut...

When was the last time, you cleaned out your gutters or had someone, clean them out for you? What do you think would happen, if you did not clean out your gutters? Your gutters would fill up with leaves and debris and your gutters would flow over with water and affect the foundation of your house and could create issues to the foundation slab the house is built on.  For crawl spaces, water could overflow and you could create water intrusions into your crawl space.  I would suggest you clean your gutters out at least yearly but I know some who clean their gutters out twice a year.  The other option is to put some sort of guard on the gutters to help prevent leaves and debris from entering the gutters and could also create a blockage in your gutters and downspouts.  Keep them clean is my s...

Can we choose to see the beauty or ugly in anything?Remember, what we see is a choice.  We can either see the beauty or the ugly in anything. For example, in the front, we might see beauty but in the back of the photo, we might see ugly in a flower. What we choose to see is up to us.  Are you seeing the beauty or the ugly in this photo.  The same thing goes with life.  What are you seeing in someone?  Are you seeing his or her beauty or are you seeing the ugly?  We all have beauty in us and we all have ugly within in us at times in our life.  I know that I used to have a lot of ugly in me.  I made changes in my life and I hope I can continue to shine beauty more than I do ugly.  We go through stages in our life, when we go through pain in our life.  The pain can come through as ugly beca...

What is a tankless water heater? A tankless water heater is just that.  It is a water heater without a holding tank and that heats water on demand, as you need the hot water. It typically has a recirculating pump that keeps the water in constant motion when you need the hot water.   I have had a water heater with a tank and I have a water heater, without the tank.  I prefer the tankless water heater.Remember that a tankless water heater will typically be much more money than a water heater with a tank.  The water heater with the tank holds the hot water and refills the tank, as you need it but the tank also costs more money to operate in my experience.  Let us also remember that both water heaters need to be maintained but less maintenance is required with the tankless. If you have a wa...

What do we have here?  What,  do you think,  this is?There is a story behind this. So, here is what happened.  I left out some bean sprouts, for about 48 hours. On purpose.  This is what,  the bean sprouts, looked like, after 48 hours.  Can you imagine is water leaks in a home or building, what could be growing, behind walls and underneath floors?  People do not even want to imagine, the nasty that can develop. Here is my point with this photo.  Can you imagine, people leaving the home wet, after a water damage?  Can you imagine not extracting the water and leaving the water in the home to dry on its own and not extracting the water out and not bringing in fans to help in the dry out?  I see it so many times.  Why do people let a Water Damage or Water Removal, dry out on its own?  Many ...

Are You?  Why are people blowing up my phone, to sell me?  Do they think, cold calling works?  Do people really want to be bothered with sales calls?  No wonder, people do not want to pick up there phone, these days!  People are afraid to be sold too or solicited, for some thing.   It has gotten so bad with all the sales calls and they are starting up again.  Oh my goodness!  Are they starting up again.  I am getting anywhere from 15 to 30 sales calls a day now and it has gotten so bad with sales calls that I want to about scream out.  Wink.  I have no problem with  others reaching out to me by telephone, to get to know me but STOP,  the selling!  Please, stop the selling! Do you see a problem or issue,  with this photo?  Look, very carefully.  I would remove this duct work as well as replace this duct work.  Replace with new.  Notice the insualtion that is around the duct work?  This acts like a sponge and holds water so it is best to remove it. This was a crawl space that had water damage from the kitchen and water affected the kitchen area as well as water got down into vent and the weight of the water disengaged duct work in crawl space.  Notice, any other issue?  Do you see any other issue? Water damage can create so much havoc to homes, if not corrected.  Think water.  Think Water Damage.  Think Mold Damage and think Mold Removal. If you ever have a Water Damage, what do you do first?Think, turning off the water to home until the leak or plumbing is...

My name is David Snell and I have lived and traveled all over the world.  Some of the places, I have lived in, are: South Korea, Indonesia, Sweden.  I have also been to Japan and traveled there many times.  It is very kind and respectful to take off your shoes upon entering the home.  These shows respect to the people you are visiting and it also is good because the home is kept cleaner by not wearing shoes, in the home or building.  Keep the building clean and it keeps it so you do not have to vaccuum or dust as much. In America, I do not see people taking off there shoes very much but, when a family does take off there shoes, upon entering the home, I certainly follow the custom because this certainly is a sign of respect.  Some times, I take off my shoes upon entering my home and whe...

This is my client Don.  This is a photo of my client Don and David.I believe in making it about the relationship and NOT the Sale! I was retained by Don and his wife,  Denise,  to perform an inspection to there home, with sampling and Mold Testing.  I performed an Infrared Scan with penetrating and non penetrating,  moisture level readings. Also, did a visual inspection around the out side  of there home and found issues that need addressing, which I will do. How many of you are making it about the Relationship and Not the sale?  If you are making it about forming relationships and there is trust, the client will usually do what you suggest.  If, you are making it about the sale, there usually is not much trust.  So, make it about the relationship and form relationships with others and ...
