As those who read my posts regularly remember that Jill was very actively watching the debate between the Former President and the Current President.Well, Jill also enjoyed watching the Republican convention what I posted about as well.It looks like she lost interest in politics, her take is "politics as usual" today she chose not to watch the TV screen and halfway through the debate she left the area.By the Time the talking heads started she was already in my chair taking a nap. I wonder how many people felt the same way? Inquiring minds want to know. Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Real Estate Advice-The Perils Of Shopping Near The Top Of Your RangeIs 2024 the year you put down deeper roots and purchase a home near Alexandria Louisiana? One of the first steps in the process is getting loan approval. Let's examine some of the potential risks shopping near the top of that range.Potential risks shopping at the top of your housing budget1) You could get the home-- Being house poor sucks (this is from personal experience). Are you prepared to make lifestyle adjustments for some extra heated square feet? Is your income about to increase or other bills about to disappear? Then you should be fine. Tuesday, 9/10/2024. The September 2024 Blog Word Challenge is no longer on the FEATURE Page; however, the Challenge will continue until midnight PST on September 30, 2024. The response to this Challenge has been very positive and enlightening. As I was driving on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) I noticed a bunch of tires painted white on the side of the road. It caught my attention. Had to drive a bit slower since my clients were following me.Well, here was the second picture and it saddened me and I kept snapping pictures but you get the message. Keep in mind this part of Malibu is very heavily traveled by tourists. I suspect the that the deaths are not tourist related rather people who should not be walking across PCH at certain times of the night or day. I also suspect that some of the deaths were caused by people racing cars on PCH because they could....  Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. When you look at activities you need to trim, blogging may be one of them.Sacrilege to hear an Ambassador say that on a site centered around blogging and the interactions that come with it?Nope, just pragmatic.  Let's face it, blogging isn't the best choice for every real estate agent to make it rain leads. If you have a large sphere of influence and know how to work for past referrals and it suits your personality, what's better than someone referred to you by someone they trusted?  Not much, right?  Today a past co-worker sent me what would be my 3rd referral from her (2 listings and a buyer), and my blogging has zero to do with it.  It's the established relationship and track record that matter most in this case.If writing is a serious struggle and uses up WAY too much of your time ju...

Sandpoint Realty 'Monday Motivation' has us looking at the many who are going back to school this month after Labor Day Weekend.  While many schedules have changed, September still thought of 'Back to School' month.  The importance of this quote, and it's reality, is well worth making education the focus point, and driving force, of  Sandpoint Realty September's 'Monday Motivation' and 'Thursday Thought'.  In my opinion of course.   'Experience the Difference' in working with a full time Professional Sandpoint Realty REALTOR® Your wants and needs will always be my priorities.  Mark Don McInnesBroker - Owner208 255-6227 SandpointNorthIdaho.com - North Idaho Home & Land Searches Sandpoint Realty LLC1205 Highway 2Sandpoint, Idaho 83864

Starting The Week Right, Best PracticesThe last thing any NFL team wants to do is start the season with a loss (looking at you Cincinnati Bengals). Real estate is the same way. A non-productive Monday sets the tone for the rest of the week. Here are somethings I do to start the week off right. 1) Create a to do list--The last thing I do Friday is generate a list for the following week. George Washington was famous for his lists. If it can beat the British, such can help you sell a home or two...2) Check something off the list-- Just like making your bed gets the day going, checking item one off helps the workday. 3) Stick tight to your schedule--Super Bowl teams typically script their opening drives. Why? That way everyone is on the same page. Once the first drive is over the nerves cal...

Two jobs diverged in a tired careerOne that was known and one that was notAnd sorry, was I that I needed to switchBut job number one was waning and tiredAnd my back was beginning to twitchI took the one less travelled byAnd that made all the difference. Okay, so this is my entry into Patricia Feager and Nick Vandekar's September Challenge.  The challenge was deceptively simple, and deceptively challenging.  Write a story using only 53 words, no more, no less.  And then in 300 words or more, tell us about your approach to the challenge and how you went about it.The hardest part, at least for me, was to write in only 53 words.  I learned, back in college, that my problem was to learn how to write succinctly.  I tended to lean toward verbosity, and it often took many drafts to shorten my p...

When I first joined Active Rain,  I felt slighted or annoyed when someone would not respond to my response to their post, nary an acknowledgement. Then it hit me, they don't want to.  It doesn't mean anything else. So, if you don't comment on my posts, or don't respond to my comments,  that's fine.  You do you.   We are all here for different reasons. Then it would annoy me if they argued my point on MY post.  The nerve !   It's my post!  Then it occurred to me--  that's ok, it is their perspective.  Nothing more.  Maybe I can learn from their perspective. So, I get it now.   You do you, I am cool with that.Have a great, productive and blessed week.  My cell:  (609) 864-8164My website:  https://michaelelliott.fathomrealty.com/

While listening to K-Love radio recently, one of the DJs named Carlos spoke about people walking through the museum of our lives. If a museum was made of your life, and you got no say in what was included, what would be included? Your basic biography from birth to death, but beyond that, what would someone else view as important enough to be included? Would those be the highlights you would have expected? That got me to thinking about perspectives, how we view ourselves versus how other people see us. We look in the mirror every day and see a reflection that we tweak, polish, brush, perfect, and yet what we see is different from what others see when they look at us. Even if it’s only the fact that see ourselves in the reflected version, what we see isn’t the same as what they see.  Many...

Photo Journalism on 9/7/2024 by Patricia Feager It is Saturday morning. Still dark. Waiting for the sun to rise. Yesterday afternoon it rained. We needed the rain in Flower Mound, TX. The grass, trees, and leaves are still green but change is coming. My feature photo was taken at the red stoplight on Fairway Drive waiting to turn to go across the Grapevine Lake bridge and dam. In the distant dark thunderstorms Flower Mound skies a storm was in plain view. It wasn't raining in Grapevine. Not yet... By the time I got to Flower Mound it was raining. The big, long yellow school bus was driving kids home from school. The bus was waiting for the traffic light to change. I was already at the Title Company. It's funny how you don't notice things until you stop and think and see and observe thin...

Real Estate Sales-Avoiding Poor Eating/Drinking HabitsWith the not so predictable hours and high stress, real estate practice can fuel some destructive eating and drinking habits. When I started in the business lunch was whatever fast food line  was shortest. Then a coffee (or 4) as the sun danced across the sky. What did this get me? About 25 lbs my first year in the business. Let's look at some ways to manage your eating/drinking habits...Eating/ Drinking Better1) Follow a schedule--We  can't control our appointments, but we can control when we grab a meal. I normally fast until lunchtime. Prior to that it's one thing (okay a big thing) of coffee, and lots of water. And not eating after 7:30pm has helped me sleep better. 2) Have healthy snacks at the office, or else--I learned from ex...
