I would answer truthfully. Yes, I have taken the vaccine shot because I believe it is the right BUSINESS decision FOR ME.

In order to do Business last year, the decision was simple then. I understand some resistance and each person has their own choices and must live with those choices.

There is no shame in already taking the shot or planning to take the shot or even expressing YOUR right to choose NOT to take the shot.

I still wear a mask into the grocery stores and listing that I show where required. As much for my protection as for yours.

The Media has made the vaccine shot a point of contention between those who have already, will in the future and won't ever take one. It is STILL AMERICA ! Choose what is best for you and your family.

I would answer yes, as I have been vaccinated and also received my booster shot. It was my choice to do so and I am not ashamed of the decision.

No one has asked me to-date, but I have had prospective clients, whom I've not met and who are scheduling a meeting, volunteer to me that they have been vaccinated just in case I have any concerns.

For those who want to get the vaccine, and want to share that information, go ahead with your bad selves.  Answer the question if you so choose, or don't if you'd prefer to keep it private.

 

For those who go by the "my body, my choice" motto, and choose not to be vaccinated and don't care to share that information, then don't... or do.

 

But if you feel you've made the right choice (whichever side of the choice you've landed on) why hide behind secrecy?  Be out and be proud.

Pick your battles.  I would answer truthfully.  Yes, it is personal medical information.  Yes, it is none of their business.   But at the same time, I don't care if they know.  I wouldn't care if they asked if I got a flu shot either.

If they asked about medical information that I did not want to reveal, I would say, "Why do you ask?"

But I don't want to make a big deal about something that is not a big deal to me just to prove a point.

Fred- I loved reading the different responses.  We still have HIPAA laws here so even though I was taught not to tell someone that it's none of their business...it isn't. It's my choice and I respect the rights of others to do so. As far as I can tell...we still live in the good ole USA!!!

Today such a question  is very much like "How about those Buccaneers" or "Do you like this cool weather?"
They do not have a right to my medical record.
They do not have a right to know the perversions of my life.
But to avoid confrontation, I will assuage their concern AND protect my privacy.
I will say, 'Of course." Maybe I will say, "Sure."  I will not say 'Yes' or "No." Followed by, "It seems you would prefer I wear a mask," and that is what I would do regardless of their level of protest.
The purpose is to make indelable the consequece of inappropriate questions.
Be aware, even when 'shot' we all spread the virus. This shot, unlike a vaccine, does not prevent infection. My mother is 95 years old. I see her daily. Wearing a mask, for mothers sake, is not uncommon for me. I would NOT share that information because that might aleviate the discomfort the one asking the question created.

I don't mind answering the question.  I've had the discussion with friends, however I haven't had a client/potential client ask although I have told people.  Masks are optional in my world, I won't ridicule anyone for wearing one, I won't ask them to.

Yes. But I might not specify it was for the flu, measles, mumps, scarlet fever, shingles,covid, and polio. But actually it would depend on the situation. I know some are concerned about their family, and about their kids who probably aren't vaccinated yet, and they need to take precautions. Two of our neighbors had bad cases, one almost died, recovered, but still suffers from the ordeal. The other is on ventilator now. You never know who will get covid and how it will affect them. I have a photo of my vaccination card on my phone and don't mind showing it where the situation might require it.
