Waxhaw NC has been a great place to buy a new home since the late 1990s.  During the real estate boom of the 2000s, developers opened neighborhood after neighborhood in and around the town.  The great recession put a halt to development of new communities and many builders abandoned neighborhoods where they could no longer sell homes at the inflated prices of the boom years.  Construction came to a halt and a number of neighborhoods remained unfinished. Lawson, a Charlotte neighborhood where history is preserved. Lawson doesn’t have historical houses.  It’s the land itself where Lawson lies among 500 acres of rolling woodlands that has a history.  In 1701, an English naturalist named John Lawson followed an ancient trail of the Waxhaw Indians to discover the area.  In the mid-1700s, a thriving settlement was located here where five roads met at Five Forks.  The land was also the site of a 19th century mill called Howard’s Mill. The Club at Longview , Waxhaw NC Yes the Big Banana, Chiquita, is hosting a Nationwide Golf tournament here in  Waxhaw, N.C. And so, another professional golf tournament is coming to the Charlotte area and the first to Waxhaw.  The PGA Nationwide Tour announced Wednesday that the Chiquita Classic will take place September 24-30.The tournament will be at The Club at Longview in Waxhaw for the next three years.
