Will.... I can honestly say, that thought was never on my list in 41 years..... I focused on making money....gas is pennies in the whole picture..... I was a listing agent and never ran with buyers (another reason I never thought about gas)...and every vehicle I had was a guzzler.... big 8 cylinder... for both summer and winter vehicles.

The only thing I can think of is when scheduling for appointments and showing properties.  I tried scheduling appointment for properties that are closed to each at certain time, for example, 1-2pm, and the properties that are further 2-3pm.  So when showing them, I don't drive back and forth much.

My only savings technique is to buy fuel at Costco when I'm there anyway. Like Nina Hollander , I go where I want to go whenever I want to go there.

It's more about saving time than gas but I do plan out an efficient order of homes when I set up a buyer tour. Trying to save gas doesn't really take up much of my attention - zero in fact.

I buy my gas from the next County North of me and save maybe 30 cents a gallon. It's on my regular route so does not take me off the normal paths but can save on average $50 to $60 a month. Keeping the tank topped off also works well during hurricane season.
