My action would depend upon my relationship with the agent. Some would appreciate the assistance while others would not want to be corrected.

I generally let it pass Debbie Reynolds. There are just too many of these listings to take my time with.

I guess the reception of the information depends on the agent. I have let other agents know of mistakes, and so far it's been a good experience for me. I would want someone to tell me if I had the wrong information.

Debbie - Oftentimes if it is a property I am looking at for a client, I will call the agent and let them know that the information is not right. Nowadays, I can't ever get an agent to answer their phone, so I guess an email would suffice.

Our MLS has a "Report Data Error" link we can click on that allows us to anonymously report things like you mentioned. The Realtor Association checks out what we report and determine whether or not to send an email to the broker & listing agent with what needs to be changed (the Association blind copies the agent who reported the error if/when that email is sent). Our Realtor Association uses a program called iCheck to automatically check listings for things that are not allowed on the MLS such as contact information and website addresses in the public remarks field. Many years ago... before they ever started using that program, I emailed one or two agents to alert them of errors but never received a reply and I think, in at least one instance, the agent didn't make any changes.

I notify the agent or the MLS directly. If I had incorrect information I would want to know about it too.

We're not even allowed to do school zones because they change all the time. We have to tell people to figure it out for themselves. Bad information I just forget and do not show the property. Bad pictures drive me batty especially when done by someone under the name of the broker at a large building firm like TAYLOR MORRISON. Called her months ago and she did nothing. Today i just saw all the really bad pictures are still there.

Most of the time yes. But I have to admit sometimes I see it when I'm in the middle of something and forget to go back and tell them

Debbie,
When I think of what I would do and given the high respect we had among our community of agents, I would do it and maintain the spirit of a great community. If it was me that you corrected, I would be grateful and appreciative that you took the time to do that. I would even take time to buy you a glass of wine or any libation of your choice. A

It depends on the nature of the error. Minor errors i tend to let slide. I will usually call an agent on blatant misinformation.

I think I would discretely mention it to the agent.

A few months ago a home came on the market for $9,300,000. Our average sales price is $175,000. Clearly it was an error. I laughed out loud and then shot the agent a quick email. Then, she laughed out loud. It sold for $93,000. If I can help a fellow agent out I will.

I notify and would hope someone would let me know if I goof up. Once I had them going left instead of right and was glad that the agent told me.

We always notify agents if we find errors - sometimes, it's not an error but a deliberate attempt to mislead.

I will bring it to their attention, and on occassion I have been cussed out.

I will first notify the listing agent. But if it's not corrected, I will send it to the Board for them to contact the agent to correct. We can't assume liability for bad information. Our mls says, if you put that information in, you own it.

I preface the concern in an email with "you might want to check" then describe the error. Often the input is derived from some scribble the associate hands to an assistant with the directive DO IT. Most are thankful for the corrections.

Good morning Debbie. It depends, but most of the time I would notify the agent and I would want them to do the same for me.

Good Wednesday morning Debbie. As you know, agents are supposed to be fined by our local board if they post inaccurate information. I see in accurate information all the time. If the agent is too darn lazy to post accurate information I assume that they will be too lazy to change it.
