 Unless you've been on an extended vacation in the tropics, no doubt you have encountered some sub-freezing temperatures over the last few weeks.  While a white Christmas is the subject of many songs and the dream of school kids everywhere, if the bone-chilling, frostbite-inducing cold hangs around too long it can wreak havoc on your home.   This past week we encountered one of our listings that had an issue with a frozen condensate drain.  "What's that?" you say? We were so fortunate to work with Phil and assist him in finding his Murphy mountain home. Wildcat is one of the most desirable gated communities here in Cherokee County....I drove up from Florida and met with Lee on a recommendation from my brother.  I told Lee and Carol my requirements and the set about to find me properties.  Lee drove me around showing me houses.  I went back and forth to Florida, with my requirements changing every time.  They were very patient and drove me around every time.  When I finally settled on a house, they worked diligently with the sellers to get to my price and repairs done on the house.  All the paperwork was sent to me in Florida and the closing went well.  I still see Lee around town and he is always friendly.  Lee and Carol are great people and I am... 01/17/2017

As the winter weather fills our days here in the Murphy NC mountains, don’t forget to feed your wild bird friends.  Not all bird seed mixes will suit all wild birds. Birds will often sort through mixed seed and discard what they do not want. Typically, less waste occurs if you provide only one type of food per feeder, rather than mixed birdseed. Experts recommend black oil sunflower seed as one of the best single seeds to attract a variety of birds to your feeder. Insect-eating birds, such as woodpeckers, chickadees and nuthatches, will benefit from additional suet in the wintertime. Suet cakes can be purchased at feed and garden stores and are available almost everywhere. The location of the food is also important.  Today our Thankful Thursday is for these four mild seasons we have to enjoy!In Florida it was always hot and hotter, but being able to celebrate the changing seasons it's so much fun to decorate.
