It's that time of year again, where the days are longer and the fresh fruits and vegetables are ready for picking!  I was driving down Bernardo Center Drive today and noticed a farmer's market I hadn't seen before. Wow! It's so exciting that it's become so mainstream for all of us Rancho Bernardans. I knew they had one at the winery on Friday mornings, but one on a Tuesday afternoon? YES! I'm so happy that it's here. Check out the rest of San Diego's Farmers' Markets. Get out enjoy the sun and the summer; it's right around the corner!

"Go Green,Live Rich" by David Bach, an author with 5 New York Best Sellers, is a MUST READ for all of us faced with Greening up Homes! His co Author Hillary Rossner is a journalist who covers environmental issues. She worked on Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth and writes frequently for the New York Times. Nice book (and an easy read/reference style design) to give to Home Buyers especially those purchasing homes in "Green" communities like Del Sur outside San Diego, California. I personally live in a fully green equipped home and love it!

Del Sur Recycling Opportunity! Those of us who live in Del Sur are probably still getting used to having our interior and exterior lighting be 90% energy efficient/florescent!Many of our homes are approaching 3 years NEW and we are having to replace some of these long lasting and energy efficient bulbs!The Ranch House in Del Sur just off of Camino Del Sur has recently opened a recycling station for all those used florescent light bulbs so we can be sure they are disposed of carefully to preserve our fragile environment.Please stop in at the Ranch House during normal business hours to drop off your burned out bulbs!Also keep in mind that Home Depot has a HUGE selection of energy efficient interior and exterior replacement florescent bulbs! People need to find out the REAL facts! What did we do BEFORE water bottles?We may have to re think how we hydrate ourselves daily...With pollution concerns and expense in producing. Did you know it takes 1.5 million barrels of oil to produce bottles for the bottle industry in the United States alone. That would be enough oil to power 100,000 cars for a year! In some Asian countries the used plastic bottles are incinerated, adding to the world's carbon emissions. Not ALL plastic is recyclable... Today, I went to show a home in the over $700,000 range and for the last year, there have been multiple offers on most homes that averaged well below that price, so I was rather taken aback when I called the listing agent, to ask her the status of the property. In the competitive offer environment we've been having, it's become the norm to find out this kind of information before showing property. The home had only been on the market for 5 days. Well, she didn't waste much time; she told me they were in a multiple offer situation and the sellers were getting ready to accept one of them. Did you see the big fish story today, it's about a giant tuna that was caughtand sold for $177,000!!! Isn't that amazing and yet when I searched the San Diego multiple listing service, there were only 24 condominiums available in the inland corridor that can be had for the same amount of money or less. Granted, you can't live in a fish, but the people who bought that tuna will probably make a lot of money from reselling parts of it to restaurant patrons that enjoy eating sushi or I should say, sashimi in a very short amount of time, at least if it's served fresh.
