No I'm afraid not. I found the whole process disheartening especially when I knew all the shenanigans that were going on with agents.

 

I didn't know I'd be joining a clique.

Hahaha, I've served on those boards and it is such a high school clique! Hell, one of our EOS was going out behind building smoking weed and shopping online when she was supposed to be working LOL not that I have any problem with either of those things but still! And certain people on the board protected her when they should have been calling for her to resign.

My involvement with our local and state associations over the years has added to my professional and personal growth. It has allowed me to make some great friends. It has allowed me, in a small way, to contribute in shaping our industry. While I am no longer involved directly in the state association, I continue to sit on our Professional Standards committee.

I have volunteered on many different committees and served on the BOD on two separate occasions and the networking and getting to know you fellow REALTORS does help on may levels. I always tell those who complain to get involved it is the only way to change things for the better!

It is sad. But sometimes you really don't want to know how the sausage is made.
this is not an 'assiciation' issue. It can be the chuch board or a member at the local animal shelter. Fife-doms bring out the worst in people.

I was a member and chair for many years...It just made me dislike agents even more than I did before.

 

It is disgusting how unethical agents are...including the ones that sit on the panels and see nothing wrong with what the agent did.

 

One of the most dishonest brokers is still  right here on active rain...and she also served...I rest my case.

True. I have not experienced the "clique" issue others seems to be concerned with. We follow the standards and rules for each complaint that comes before us and that is that. It's definitely an eye opener and a learning experience and for that matter, any learning will make you better in what you do.
