The list is alive and well.  However, it appears many don't care about it, honor it, or respect it. That is why 90% of the calls I receive are spam, robo callers that annoy the crap outt me.

I do not call.  I am a permission marketer.  The Internet works for me. People who need my help ... call me. 

  Regrettably, there is almost no enforcement of this law, or any enforcement of the additional law in Florida that prohibits robocalls and spam telemarketers.

Only ONE company, since the invention of the DNC list has been held accountable. That was an ORLANDO bassed robo-calling giant.

Now, one really should explore what happens when a complaint is filed. I am serious. You are MORE LIKELY to be the next PowerBall winner.

What do I do?  I would tell you, but then I'd have to .......you know.

There are loopholes to that law and spam calling is so rampant where would they even start to enforce it?

What Kathleen Daniels said. I don't worry about who is or isn't on the list, as I don't cold call strangers... ever. I don't do to other people what I don't want done to me.

Those who telemarket are encouraged regularly by our broker to pay attention to the Do Not Call List.

I abide by it but do not think anyone else does as i get 4-8 calls a day every day

The list is not dead but I believe most people wish that those who ignore it would be.  Personally, I only practice permission calling.

Anyone soliciting me is wasting their time and getting blocked. Even if they offered me something for free I would refuse it! Why? They are intrusive

I call anyone that gave me their number willingly, I call into my database monthly.

I don't call unless they call me or contact me in another way first. I don't do cold calling. 

I don't hear much talk about them these days, but I don't make cold calls. I suppose violators can still be fined.

It is a sham, punishes legitimate businesses and allows politicians, fake charities, and other scammers to prosper.

The do not call list is riddled with exceptions and difficult to enforce. Many spammers use it to get numbers to solicit.

The agency charged with enforcing this went after Coldwell Banker's parent company and a software dialer service for not scrubbing lists against the DNC list.  CWB was giving agents lists of numbers to call which is why they got named.  There is more to it (as there always is), but that's the "Executive Overview" verison.  The case was filed in Florida's courts.

I think the "do not call" list is not affective and irrelevant.  The reasons include the never ending calls we receive and the multiple reasons to call someone on the list without it being an unsolicited call.  If we, as Realtors, call you and you are on the do not call list, we do have a legitimate reason to call you.  People that are sticklers to the rules and money hungry are making a living of suing though.

I've looked for the list, but never seen one in real life. I halfway believe it is a myth; especially with the number of calls I receive even though I am supposedly on the "list."
