There's No APP for customer service, competence & character; there's no APP for what I do. The discount brokers are starting to find out you can't automate nor assembly-line process people making the largest purchase or sale of their lives. Everyone's needs are different and not to be cookie-cutter served. If you think working with a REALTOR® with years of experience, including weathering the CRASH is expensive, try working with an amateur that wants to process you vs. serve your needs.

Other "disruptors" are still on the scene. If they continue to lose money, I forecast more will disappear.

I'm not surprised at all.  Out here they had such a hard time selling houses that they had to stop charging the sellers the several thousand dollar fee if the house didn't sell.

 Here they  started in 2017 $3200 then $3950 then $4900 then $4999 then add all the extras like do you want more than 8 photos?  There still remain 4 cheap priced, cough not so nice, discount shops to take those expired(s) that were listed for too high a price. com·mis·er·at·ed not to feel co-misery

I just took a quick look at how many houses they have listed close to our area and there are quite a few. I wonder how they're going to handle dumping all those clients?   Did I get this part right - Seller pay the fees up front? If so then there is going to be a lot of not happy campers. Bummer for them.

If I read correctly, the main issue was expansion exceeded capability. They moved from itsy-bitsy markets to the USA market and although participation was great, they imploded. Then Brexit bit them and the Germans made their takeover move.

"Co-misery," I sure was evident at the non-physical water cooler.

The disruption they intend to create must come with the US Govt moving agents to an employee status. The fall of the monopoly will allow the deck chairs to be rearranged. Like the ROMAN wedge, NAR has either destroyed the alternatives or assimilated them into the river of money. (Zdevil) IT is interesting that this assmilation was preceeded 12 months by NAR dis-inviting Zdevil from the conventions.

I expect Warren Buffet to be bringing a YELLOW BRICKS alternative where disruption can occur from a well funded insider.

The effect of brutal competition giving the business away to gain market share - not a good long term business strategy. It's the beginning to bite and hurt. OpenDoor just laid off staff. And other "iBuyer/Seller' real estate firms are sitting on inventory they can't sell - or selling at a loss.
