       When Social Media came into vogue, I ran a social media consulting company (Get There Social Media).   Helped companies set up on FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, train them, post for them, etc.

      Even though I had a partner, staff, etc. it was very time consuming.  It cut into my time for real estate business, which is more lucrative than consulting.  So I sold my interest in that company. 

Yes, I have been involved in a number of businesses.

Having a law degree and being a past president of a large regional builders association and a past president of a regional chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management has added some credibility. My ownership of a major insurance agency has also opened many doors.

I have other skills. But so far no one has been willing to pay me.

These days I list homes, sell homes, manage some homes, buy fix and sell some homes and list and sell bank owned homes. The only thing missing is selling more new contruction homes. 

Nope, just real estate for me; however, prior to 2007 I was in the horse business.

If I did, I would never want to advertise it to my clients.  I have always found it so tacky for agents who have sides jobs to advertise themselves to their clients.  It doesn't exactly scream, "I'm a real estate success," to be hocking Mary Kay or new cars on the side.  

This is a very time consuming profession.  Not sure how anyone does much else but real estate.

I do offer financial coaching and will do a financial needs assessment for clients if they are interested (never any pressure, but talking about buying a home is always a good time to talk about finances).

I also own a digital marketing agency, but I typically would not bring that up unless they discussed having a business and a need. In that, I would have someone else from my agency contact them, so I can remain focused on their financial needs.
