Hi Hella: you bet I'm ready. Hauling in our lanai furniture. Got plenty of water. The worst will be no electricity, as I imagine it will go out. Thank goodness I bought a Weber grill with an actual burner attached in case I have to make coffee. How do you make coffee out of a coffee pod?

Aloha Hella, yes I am ready.  Looks like it is downgrading to a category 2, I hope this is true. Everyone in Hawaii is taking this very seriously, stay safe.

A CAT 4 is something you must fear. Go high and be ready to endure for a month. That way, when the lights come back on in 10 days, you will be ready but not stressed.

A CAT 5 is something you must run from. Go high and go underground.

A Cat 5 has a storm surge of 24 feet!  Rainfall of 17 inches. Whether you are high or low, you are in trouble.

Hawaii has a history of responsible governance and self reliance.

    If you are planning to evacuate, go early.   Florida freeways become nightmare traffic jams when hundreds of thousands of people wait to leave the day before the hurricane hits.

I am not ready to hear about or read about how weather or other natural disasters are destroying land, homes, and turning lives upside down. Indeed.  Be Safe!!!

I have been thinking of all the people I know on several islands, Active Rainers and other agents. It's a scary time. Sure hope it is less severe than what they are talking about. Hope all will be safe!
