I think my membership with NAR will be coming to an end after 40 years.... I don't need it anymore! I did use it to earn designations and every one of them was worthwhile for me.... no one knew what they represented but they knew I was in favor of education.

Any REALTOR that would stand there and allow a buyer/client to stand in the shower ... with or without clothes ... would be a stupid idiot and the sellers of the home would be outraged!!!

Custom Lighting ... can you imagine watching a client do that with the light switches?  Someone is not on the meds!!

An Idiot savant standing on the couch ... really.  And the REALTOR says nothing but ... 12-foot ceilings.  How about, get the hell off the couch, you idiot!!! 

Brazilian walnut - I have never had clients face-plant on floors ... any floors.  If they did I would be saying, those floors might look clean but I assure you they are not ... do you know how many filthy disgusting shoes have walked on that floor!  

While I think they may be suggesting the agent understands their customer, NAR is definitely showing they do not understand their agent members, nor their members' customers. More money wasted...

I just wish they would stop! I'm not into cute messages in what I consider to be a serious business. And let's not forget the money they are spending on refurbishing the headquarters. I just wish I had an option to terminate my membership.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest made more sense.

First they spend who knows how much money designing a logo that no one can use or no one likes--- waste of our dues. 

Then they create commercials that are stupid and elementary. 

It is beyond my comprehension on what goes into their decision making processes. 

I just don't get it.

Oh my gosh. I just watched all four of the ads. If one of my buyers tried to get in the shower, or stand on the couch, or flick the light switches on or off, I would not stand there with a sicky sweet smile on my face and allow it! I haven't seen these ads but they make realtors look like idiots. 

Why don't they hire professional creatives? Aren't they tired of hiring amateurs? I mean we might as well create our own with Limbo Rock! How low can we go?

What a great way to really piss off homeowners & buyers more than the shady licensees already do. While they are somewhat humorous, in a very dry way, they just make homebuyers look like buffoons. 

Thanks for another blaring example of how out of touch NAR is with the consumers and with the licensees that are held hostage to their racket.

The only thing that could salvage these commercials is to add the 'big hair' blond overweight real estate lady going for her side gun....with the caption..."Don't let this happen to you, hire a REALTOR."

The first thing I noticed was everyone was looking up (creepy) and the ideas were taken from variations of other commercials. The brazilian walnut floor idea was very similar to a Febreeze commerical. That is obvious. Nothing spoke REALTOR at all, no call to action either!

Lyn, sure wish we had some say in how our hard earned dollars are spent.  Some of those commercials are so stupid.

I am so over the NAR!

I would venture to say that half of the local firms are no longer members in my market.  It's just a waste of money.  I generally disagree with most of their lobby positions as well.  And I know how to write my congresspeople personally.

Another spectacular brainchild of NAR and their creative (read stupid) ad agency of the great use of our money. How dense do you have to be?

How about and ad campaign to address the issues of i-brokerages.... oh noooooo, that would be way too smart.....

I must say that they have out down themselves in making a mockery of what we do. I have seen them, they make you look the first time you watch, then they get annoying fast. It does NOT show any value of using a Realtor over not using a Realtor. It does not show what we do behind the scenes. 

Lyn Sims thanks for the link to the ads. I watched them and I disapprove of them. They are worse than the last series of ads run by NAR. Definitely a waste of money.

I hadn't seen those ads yet but are they kidding????  The money has been spent and makes our buyers all look like idiots & Realtors as wall flowers...  I'm not impressed with the expenditure. 

I don't mind them and I tend to focus on the positive.

They sure as heck don't put our clients in the best light! However, I've had a few who fall into that category. The Realtor comes across as the only sane person in the commercials.  Quirky can be good. You state you haven't seen the commercials but have already made up your mind? So what would your ideal ad be? "I have not personally seen the commercials but here they are. Again, my profession is trying to show I'm an idiot."  

I did not know about these nor have I seen them in my local market.

I think some areas do not have a significant percentage of agents who are Realtors.  My area does.  Our local board requires it for those hanging their license under a Broker who is a Realtor.

I am getting less and less from NAR!
