Do I have a choice to be okay with it?  My understanding is that my feelings on privacy are meaningless.  And our society is insane.  We invite, no...get excited about having spying devices in our home as long as they have feminine names and play us music.  We can't invite the devil in and then be outraged the devil was spying on us.

The thing is, if our banks are selling our data to FB, we should have an issue with our BANKS, not Facebook. 

Think about it - if they banks do share their information, it's going to be ALL BANK CUSTOMER'S info, not just those with Facebook accounts.  They don't know who has FB accounts or who doesn't, nor do they care.

The agreements we sign with the banks allow them to share/sell this information.  This data is already sold all over the place.  That's why I moved to mostly cash transactions and creating false loyalty program accounts or using shared ones.

 

It's just another way for them to make their target marketing more effective.  I doubt we have any say, short of writing our banks to urge them to say no.

I'm not ok with this, but know that it happens with many other institutions, as well as leaks happen Fred Griffin.  I'm surprised it hasn't already happened and we are just now hearing about it.  For me, it's not a reason to opt out of FB at this point.  I totally understand why others choose to - for me, there are too many people who are family and friends that I would really miss, as most of us (family) do not live in the same state.
