Sad to see this could have been prevented.  Microsoft put up a patch in March, but a lot of people haven't updated their computers.

I'm rock'n it with Win10. 

Of course it is helpful to no WannaCry did not target Win10. Could be they are saving Win10 for something special, or those exploits do not exist on the latest Windows OS.

The only thing a citizen can do is ensure recovery with two tested back up methods.

What you dont read about is the years ago successful stealing of tens of millions of dollars when there were no counter-measures in place....

I have been reading a lot about this all weekend, lots and lots of interesting theories out there about intent, who is involved, intentional vulnerabilities, etc.  

All of us need to be alert.

Those who are still using Window XP or an even older version of Windows need to upgrade. Unsupported versions are more risky.
