Good question Bob Crane . The thought has crossed my mind and I would not be surprised at all if the data is being used by the host.

That's a valid concern, you may want to contact your CRM and ask them what is their policy about confidentiality regarding your contact's information.

I hope they don't.... that's horrible, if they do, and the agent is paying monthly!!!

Especially with the free ones, that's always a concern.  Personally, I don't worry about it.  I think there are enough laws out there to discourage the practice.

This is one of the reasons I do not use my company's CRM as I feel like that would use my data base. I have been assured by customer service at Market Leader that they do not.

I am absolutely positive they sell contacts as leads.

I sure hope not - haven't heard about that being an issue but it's certainly a good question.

That's a great question, Bob Crane - most in my database are sphere, past clients, current clients, etc. I often receive texts or emails from my them about an ad that another agent ran or a postcard they sent them...I don't feel like they've been 'sold' to others though - just normal farming, marketing kind of advertising.

That has crossed my mind, but would hope not.

I am not sure that you have control over that with most company

I would read their terms and conditions but it seems they would protect your clients information if they were a professional business.

At the core of my being I do not believe any data can be trusted with anyone. 

Someone always seems to have access to your data! And most use it!

It is a good question and you absolutely can not be sure about anything that is posted online. 

Bob Crane - very valid question. However, I doubt they can 'see' the database - unless given the permission by the client.

Because of the high integrity of Buffini & Company it's NEVER a concern.

I've never come across that problem with the two CRM's that I've used.
