That's lower than I expected.  Odd that the CDC would have that stat though.  I wouldn't consider D-I-V-O-R-C-E a disease (just a classic country song).

It's a sad statistic but I thought it was 50% so it is an improvement!

Statistics can be skewed to represent anything the provider wants - I don't believe that number at all

I find that very surprising ... it was 50% and more for so many years. Maybe people are starting to figure it all out or just stay married because the cannot afford to divorce.  But why does the CDC track divorce ratte?

Higher in Oklahoma, about 50%. I guess the bible belt has bigger problems.

Well, better than the other way around I suppose. In any case every 4 out of 10 people get divorced!

Apparently it's rising for those over 50. Why can't we just try to be happy instead of perpetually looking for that greener grass, which actually is often full of nasty weeds.

I am impressd that the level is declining.

My Wife Anne and I will be celebrating our 8th year of Marriage on July27th.

Guess we are increasing the odds that other couples will stay married longer.

The 40% that are divorced need to accept responsibility for being in that place. 

This is not our first marriage

     The Bible says, "God hates divorce" (book of Malachi).   Jesus Christ commanded, "Let no man put asunder what God has joined together" (book of Matthew).  

     Yet, the divorce rate among so-called Christians is as high or higher than other people.
