Phone rings, I answer.  I also text and email very late.  

Unless in negotiations, I don't answer phones after 7pm, When I'm with a client (listing appointment, listing review, buyer showings, etc.), I don't pick up the phone. I tell all my clients up-front that when I work with them I focus solely on them and that hopefully they will understand there may be times when they call me and I don't answer the phone, because I'm providing the same level of attention and service to another clients as I do to them. I've never had anyone complain.

Answer when I can.  Don't answer when I can't -- with clients - when I'm sleeping or otherwise engaged.   

If I am with someone I will not answer; otherwise I will answer.

Would that question include texting because when I'm with a client I'm trying to be very respectful of their time and do not answer any communication unless it pertains to them like scheduling next house showing or things like that

There are times when I just don't feel like answering.

I NEVER answer my phone with clients, buyers or sitting at the table with a Seller.   If I am waiting for a call with someone very critical, I do ask permission.  That time is for the client.

We usually answer the phone when the caller ID shows a known person. 

The phone is used from 9am to 9pm, if I am with customers or otherwise cannot answer, a voicemail or text will always be the next best choice. Note that tone alert is usually off in meetings or when face to face.

I answer my phone from 7:30 am to about 9 pm - unless the client is in active negotiations  in which case I will answer later. 

Good morning Tom. It depends on the time of day or if I cam with a client. Clients you are working with, need to know they are priority.

 Good Thursday morning Tom. I do not answer the phone after 8 o'clock. I do subscribe to the concept of always answer the phone.

When we are not busy, we answer.

I usually will answer the phone after 7am and then as late as 10p since I am awake.  I dont answer the phone when I am with a client or at dinner.

I usually always answer. I also have assistants to take messages for me if I am tied up in conferences & Meetings.

I answer the phone if I can same for texts and emails. If I am with someone phone is on silent. There are sometimes when I am out of service and return voicemails as soon as I can. I have learned to shut the thing off about a half hour before I go to bed so I can get some sleep, I even put it in another room.

I usually don't answer after 9:00 or 9:30 in the evening unless I have told a client to call.  I also don't answer before 8:00 a.m.

8am-6pm you'll get an answer, after that it is not guranteed but most likely you'll still here back or at the latest first thing in the morning.

We  answer our phone anytime it rings unless we are sleeping.

if I'm not available to answer, it goes into voice mail and return the call when I AM available....

If I have no a good reason( with a client/meeting, or in a shower, or a blocked number or marketing call,  or after hours), I answer the phone. And If I did miss a call, I call back as fast as I can.

If the caller ID shows a marketing company, I never answer. Calls within my area code usually get answered during business hours. If I'm not sure of who the caller is, I may answer or let it go to VM.

Its all depends on one's priority. If they want then they can answer it anytime but if they do not then its all upto oneself.

I asked everyone in our office this question and we realized we assumed our clients knew when we would answer the phone!  Not a good assumption. So we have a work order to add our 'Call us during these hours' to our MileZip website. :) Thanks Tom!
