The bi-stable actuator. It is old school, but from this device all action including today's whiz bang stuff would cease to work.
The bi-stable actuator is an on/off switch.
And since a pencil would not be considered a device my #2 would be a telephone in any of it's forms. A telephone is the only thing you need to make money. The other stuff could make it easier.
