David Wiggs is doing his best to keep up with it this week, it is a tough job some weeks.

AR seems to have a smaller staff than in the olden days so it appears that spam is only dealt with during the weekdays.

They really need to figure out an automated system, like if 5 people report something as spam it gets taken down automatically.

Who's minding the store?  The same people who 'manage' spam on Trulia, I guess. 

I let David know. He is filling in for Bob Stewart while Bob is on his honeymoon.  Hopefully it will be gone soon.  You can always email David  at AR as well.

Apparently no one is on the weekends.   If they can't prevent these, then they need someone to moderate, even if it's just one of us.  It's ridiculous.

The system needs a better spam filter.  

I am sure it is a challenge to keep the pests out.

If there is a button /designed built to alert to the help desk that would be nice.

Hello everyone. I popped in over the weekend and again today and marked all the reported spam as such, which should have sent it packing.

More importantly, we're working with our developers to implement standard blogging spam filters, which should fix the issue more globally. This is work in progress currently.

In the meantime, I'm jumping in to address as I can. We appreciate your patience. Bob is away for the week and he's able to be much more on top of this than me.

I know I am late to this thread...but I suspect that as the new formats roll out there will be more glitches and we will have to be patient and work through them.  I am a little disappointed in some of the comments here from some of the "seasoned" AR veterans who know that from time to time issues will arise.

What I don't get is that if these spammers are really posting these messages manually to the Q&A section, how many more key strokes would it take to post the same nonsense as a blog?

Lots os spem being left as you said at ActiveRain. There has to be a way tos top this nonsense.. 

It was a frustrating Q/A day on Sunday.  

In A&Q before and after your Q I see about 10 spam Q. I can not find a way to mark a spam Q. But really, what is the point to post them?

just ignore it.  It's not like it's hurting your google results or anything.

Barbara - It seems to come in stages. We won't have it for a while, and then all of a sudden we will get a bunch in a row. I wish we didn't have to deal with it at all.

It has been getting out of control since the takeover.

Considering all the spam we've experienced lately, I would think AR would have someone on the watch for it...even on the weekend.

obviously no one. unless it is impossible to remove. which is not true. so.. no one is minding. a sad state of affairs. if i could remove i would. i volunteer for the job. i wont even get paid.

It's a full blown virus today, I've never seen it this bad. ActiveRain Real Estate Network and ActiveRain University how about we rid the spam, which is at an all time "worst" the past 2 months...PLEASE!

Have you noticed they seem to have fixed the spam blocker as we are not plagued with these like we were before?
