I moved to the area after spending 13 years in sunny Florida. I'm originally from upstate NY and I missed the wide open spaces, and the weather, believe it or not! The Lake Wallenpaupack/Hawley area appealed to me on so many levels. The beauty of the area, the small town feel of Hawley and the people are just, well, neighborly!
I was also a Realtor in Florida, so of course I would get my license here, as well. In addition to being a Realtor, I also obtained a position with a local company doing soil testing, commonly known as "Perc Tests." It was an invaluable experience for me as a Realtor. We covered Pike, Wayne, Monroe and a bit of Carbon county, I learned my way around the area fast. I also learned about Test Pits, Perc Tests, Lot locating, staking and evaluations, Septic System Calculation, Layout and Design, well locations and numerous DEP regulations. When looking for a building lot, you won't find too many Realtors who can calculate the size of your sand mound based on the perc rate! Although, I do leave that to the pros now, I can certainly advise you of how to proceed with the testing and what to watch out for.
I can also provide you with a enormous amount of information about the area. A Hawley resident, I am extremely familiar with the "personalities," of the many communities in our area, and what each has to offer. People come to me in all shapes and sizes, at various stages of their lives and different economic levels. Thankfully, there is something for everyone here. It is a wonderful place to live, vacation or just visit. You won't want to leave!
Finally, I love my work. I love hearing the phone ring, I love getting (and answering), my emails from customers. Many are surprised at the outstanding service they recieve from me. I am almost always just a phone call away, if you do get my voice mail, I make every effort to return your call within the hour. I constantly have my lap top open, if I am not out with customer, so I am extremely prompt at answering your emails, too. I've been told that I have a "calming presence," which helps when you are making a big decision, such as purchasing a house. My philosophy is that I work for my customers. They tell me what they want and I give it to them. I will never show you a three bedroom ranch (because it is my listing), when you are looking for a two bedroom chalet. I'm am not into high pressure sales, and I find that many people like that. I believe I am that way, because I don't care to be pushed into a purchase myself. I believe that if I can find you the right house, that is what makes the sale. Sometimes it happens quickly, sometimes it takes some time. I have customers that I have been working with for over a year, and they just haven't found the right place yet. The best part about that is that they become friends, and a loyalty develops.
