Get to Know George Meyer

George started his first band at 12 years old and has gone on to play with many well known and influential musicians. After many years in local bands George joined the legendary Blackberry Booze Band, one of the seminal Asbury Park, NJ bands in the early '70's. Corky Laing (the drummer from Mountain) picked Blackberry to be his band for his solo album tour in 1977. Next came 2 years with the Ian Hunter (Mott the Hoople) Mick Ronson (David Bowie) band recording 2 albums, touring the world, and doing one of the earliest videos for a then fairly new MTV. George also played keyboards for Meatloaf, Ellen Foley (Paradise by the Dashboard Light), Melanie, Corky Laing, Otis Rush, and many others.  George has written songs for Karla DeVito and Meatloaf, ("If You Really Want To") for which he received a gold record. He also appears as a back-up vocalist on Martin Briley's hit "The Salt in My Tears"
