2016

Here are two more pictures from old Searcy AR.  They were loaned to me by Cargile Auctions to share with readers of this blog and come from the Shoffner Estate Sale that will be coming up in March.  Look at the background.  What store in Searcy was that?  Anyone remember?  It looks as if the pict...

With our large back yard we see lots of visiting animal and birds.  I have been accused of feeding the crows with left-overs with the explanation that "all God's critters gotta eat" and preferring feeding to wasting.  I can walk out back and hear the crows saying, "There's that old woman throwin...

Those were the good old days.....perhaps!  We did not pursue email addresses and we used 800 phone numbers to make it cheaper for our clients to call us.  We went to conventions with our friends and had  great learning times.  Remember collect calls?  Our kids could call collect, we'd refuse to ...

Quite frankly, I did not remember doing it. ...

The past is all here.  Including the friendly cat waiting beside the front door.  Take a look at this front door.  Notice the lovely wood with the beveled glass panes.  The house was built in 1890 as a Queen Ann Victorian.  It has had some changes but not enough to make it lose its historic value...

Sherry Snow on December 31, 2015 published a special article in the Searcy Daily Citizen regarding a club called the Doniphan Chicks,  a group of ladies who don't want the town of  Doniphan to be forgotten.  The article says that the little town once had three hotels or boarding houses, an elemen...

We are beginning a new year.  2016!  2015 surely went by in a hurry and we are all glad to start anew.Look back, however, to how it used to be.  I have so many old pictures on my computer and I have written so many blogs that I forget what I have already published on this blog.  But this old buil...
