I am having a great time with the trainer, David Long, who is our instructor for the next 4 days.  He is giving us ideas and tips of how to do business.  Not to think about it..but to listen to what he says for us to do and to just do it. Guess what,  It works.  You do not have to be a rocket scientist to sell real estate.  We have to ask questions and put the buyer and seller together.  Why re-invent the wheel when its working.  "If it ain't broken don't fix it.."  We have heard this time and time again. It is always better to keep it simple.  You can not make some one sell if they do not want to sell and you can not make some one buy if they do not want to buy. I have a delightful HP printer that was an All-In-One.  It did everything that I needed to have done.  It was great.  Well, last week, it decided that it was going to jam every time I tried to print something.  Do you realize how annoying that can be.  Therefore, I bit the bullet and got a new HP Office jet Pro 8400A Plus.  Wireless.  All there of our computers can print on this One computer...wireless. I battled with my builder/husband two years ago when we were building this house.  He did not want to build the wrap around porch; he wanted to keep the screened porch but incorporate the exterior porch into heated square feet.  We argued for days, and I won; primarily because I thought it gave the house character and maintained the arts & craft style that I was aiming for.  Like everything else the day we finished the property, it was listed for sale.  Of course, the market went into a decline and we took it off the market for several months.  We are getting ready to relist it.  I fenced the property and I still have a few little staging touches that need to be completed.  I spent the past two weeks looking for just the right rocking chairs to complete the curb appeal, and my husband h... 07/05/2010

Coming to North Carolina's Sunset Beach or Ocean Isle Beach this summer?  Beach Burgers located on highway 179 which connects the two beaches has wonderful food...the typical baskets.  If you are from the South, I assume you know what a Carolina Burger is, if not, let me tell you it is messy.  You lick your fingers and watch the front of your shirt; you may even want to tuck a napkin under your chin.  Oh, be sure you bring some Certs (or Tums, if prone to heartburn).  A Carolina burger has chili and onions instead of lettuce and tomato and pickles.  It reminds you of eating a sloppy joe with a burger and a slice of melted cheese. The onion rings are not greasy and very crunchy so come prepared.  Oh...and the sweet tea is very sweet so you may need to blend half sweet and half unsweetene... 05/26/2010

Last night, I listed a home that I just sold last year about this same time.  I blogged a few weeks ago about this topic dealing with older parents, and how quickly the quality of life can change.  The couple who purchased the home really love it.  It is larger than their home in Sandpiper Bay that we sold last year and it has beautiful gardens with a pond full of koi fish.  The problem is that it requires a great deal of maintenance which would have been fine except one of their parents is experiencing health issues and they live several states away.  Several times over the course of the year, they have had to make emergency trips to be with that parent.  Someone has to take care of the waterfall and the fish and neighbors have been happy to help but the owners never realized how much ... 04/18/2010
