Ocean Hills Country Club 55+ Community in Oceanside Market Update March 2018 Ocean Hills Country Club in Oceanside CA is commonly regarded as the premier 55+ community in coastal North San Diego County, perhaps even in San Diego County, and prices reflect that as compared to other 55+ neighborhoods. Buyers with the right budget are often interested in the homes for sale at Ocean Hills Country Club.  Ocean Hills is a gated and guarded community (24-hour guards), with the primary point of access for residents and the public off Cannon Road, and a second entrance/exit for residents only. Ocean Hills Country Club is known for its resort and active-senior lifestyle. The community offers a wide range of housing styles, sizes, prices and views but with fairly limited turn-over (there are 1632 ...

Wondering what your home is worth in Oceanside/ Rancho Del Oro?Wondering how the Oceanside Real Estate Market is doing, particularly in Rancho Del Oro, Ivey Ranch? There is NO QUESTION ABOUT IT. IT'S A SELLERS MARKET. SO THAT MEANS SELL SELL SELL SELL! If you've lived in Rancho Del Oro Oceanside for a while, I just thought I'd let you know home prices have never been higher, and competition has never been stronger! Trust me, most homes ( that don't suck) receive multiple offers. This is when having a good real estate agent, who you pay a FULL COMMISSION TO, comes in handy. This is when a discount broker, gets you LESS MONEY AND LESS MARKETING, LESS EXPOSURE, LESS TRAFFIC, LESS EYEBALLS; Hey, just sayin. If you want to get a quick idea about what the value of your home is, then USE my web...

Bake Sale at Sea Hive Marketplace to Benefit Those Affected by the Lilac Fires Sea Hive Marketplace, one of my favorite stores around, is hosting a bake sale today with 10 area bakers participating, from 10 am until 4 pm. 100% of the proceeds will benefit those affected by the Lilac Fires recently. Stop by if you have a chance, at 1555 S. Coast Highway in Oceanside.  We started, of course, with the bake sale and bought a bunch of goodies to enjoy and share.   Of course we then went on to do some shopping at this eclectic marketplace with numerous vendors, and an amazing array of art, clothing, pottery, jewelry, records, furniture, collectibles, and the list just goes on and on.   The holiday season was alive and very well, too, at Sea Hive. It was great fun seeing lots of vintage holida...

Holiday Music at the Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside CA 2017 The Mission San Luis Rey, the largest of the 21 California missions and founded in 1798, is a beautiful place to visit any time of the year, with wonderful grounds and abundant history (it’s a National Historical Landmark) to enjoy – and open daily to the public. The Mission is home to a community of Franciscan Friars. Mission San Luis Rey offers a Retreat Center with day and overnight programs cemetery, historic church, museum, multi-function meeting spaces, and gift shop, and is well worth a visit if you are in the area.  We went to a wonderful holiday Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols there today (one of the choir directors is a good friend of ours) and thoroughly enjoyed beautiful music in a liturgical tradition first ...

Sea Hive Marketplace in Oceanside CA Prepare to be Amazed!  I am not a big shopper. So I don’t usually gush about places where I have shopped. That out of the way…I love this place I just discovered.   And if you are a fan of vintage, modern/mid-century modern, antique or artisan-made crafts, and so much more, Sea Hive may end up being your favorite place, too. Redecorating a room or your home? Need an interesting accessory or a gift? Or just love collecting? You’ll likely find it here.  Sea Hive Marketplace just opened in August 2017, a collaboration between Todd Stephenson of Estate Sale Warehouse fame (right down the street in Oceanside) and others. Located in the popular South O area of Oceanside, with over 12,000 SF of space and I think about 100 vendors, this place just goes on an...

101 Cafe Wall Mural in Oceanside I drive by this classic diner in Oceanside often, located on the historic 101 (aka the Coast Road) where it's been since 1928 - making it Oceanside's oldest restaurant.  Despite all my time here in neighboring Carlsbad I have yet to stop in...something to be remedied I think. I drove by 2 days ago, on the side road, on my way home from an inspection at a beautiful ocean-vew condo. It was a gorgeous fall day and the colors on the mural were particularly bright. And since I didn't already have this mural in my photo collection, I made it happen quickly before the light changed.

Who Remembers Gidget? I was showing oceanview properties today in Oceanside and we drove by the California Surf Museum - a fun place to visit if you are in town! In looking over the museum photos I had I found this picture of the Gidget display. Some of you may be old enough to remember Gidget, a novel, a 1959 movie (with Sandra Dee)  and a 1965 - 1966 sitcom (with Sally Field), about a “boy-crazy” teenaged girl and her surfing friends in Malibu, truly an icon of the California surfing culture.  It’s easy to see why this was included in the California Surf Museum historical treasures!

2 Bedroom Single Story Home NOW SOLDOver Asking Price in Ocean Hills Country Club  Ocean Hills Country Club is considered by many to be the premier 55+ community in Oceanside, indeed in North San Diego County.
