Although I'm retired, I love sharing my knowledge and learning from other real estate industry professionals. - Wenatchee, WA
Retired Agent / Broker / Property Manager

It depends on the subject.  Sometimes, I post an article intended for member-to-member interaction and not for the general public. That said, I wouldn't post anything that you NEVER want the general public to see. You never know where and when it might show up.

A moving experience!

Not everything you post is designed to be consumer-facing.  You can make that decision to keep some posts private (limited to within Active Rain), but even those are never truly private.

I make all of my posts public, but that's entirely up to you.

I select the public option. You have a choice depending upon the topic and the content.

I cant remember the last time I posted something that was not public.

If you are planning to post something that you do not want the public to see it may be best to not post it since once on the internet it is never really private.

That is your call. I make 99% public, but sometimes there's either a contest or a topic I feel is Active Rain Only. But, again that is my decision based on the hamster on the wheel in my head - and based on the same logic as Carol Williams answer 😉.

It depends on what you're trying to accomplish. If you're publishing something meant for members only, it may add more "noise" for clients or the public to sift through.

Not necessarily.  Only post public if that is who your audience is.

If it is for AR members, post members only.

Keep in mind, that the PUBLIC still has access to AR content.  The only difference being Google won't be indexing Members Only posts.

Depends on how many blogs you have and their subject.  Things like recepies and non-business related stuff like that, shouldn't even be on this site in the first place (IMHO), but definitely shouldn't be public.

Ask yourself "If someone finds this, will it make them think I know real estate and make them want to call me?"  If the answer is no, then don't make it public.
