Agree. It's also nice to see the excitement of the sellers when they see their house flashing by them on FB. Most also tell me that their house looks so great from the HD pics that they'd want to check out their house. Also shows pride.

I don't think that we do enough to create the excitement for them. It's commonplace for us but not for them.

Annette Lawrence , Palm Harbor, FL 727-420-4041 I learned early in my career it wouldn't kill me to grab a paint brush, pick up trash, wash a wall, or whatever. This attitude helped me gain the Builders/Developers and many contractors I worked with. If you want to work with builders and developers you better be willing to go the extra mile and believe me it's well worth the extra effort.

It was often said if the home sale went well, i did my job. Many tmes of late being on listing appointments and sellers say they can do it themselves. My answer is the easy part is finding a buyer, the hard part is getting it to close. I actually like meeting a fsbo who tried and failed, as they see how much work it takes to go from for sale to closed.

Working with investors, it usually is wash, rinse, repeat.

Working with regular people, I do keep them updated each step and let them know what was involved.

Example: Worked with an out of area landlord in terminating a tenancy.  Was involved with many aspects of that.  On the move out day, I spent over 5 hours with the move-out process.  I made sure the landlord knew how much work I put in for them.

When I start working with new clients many of them think our profession is easy and fun. Then they see the work and expertise it takes, the nights we work very late, and how we’re working nights, weekends and holidays.

By the time we get to closing they say there is no way they would ever want to do what we do and spend the time we spend.

I understand and appreciate your point.  Yes! Yes! We are to do everything we promised! We are to do even more! We are to do it like a swanny-duck ballet!  I’m not going to lie-some days I go to bed and wonder if it would be easier not to be a swanny duck.

We do not know which wash- which rinse- which repeat will stand out to that client (or if it will at all). When a client understands that their needs became my personal mission is when I truly truly love what I do.  Thank you for sharing-I get it. “Just keep swimming! Just keep swimming!”

What Peter den Boer said. Except I like to think of myself as a swan, not a duck. I don't get those kinds of calls from clients... I have so carefully explained upfront what will happen, when and how that they are not surprised to see I've done what I've promised to do. Excitement is saved for offers, contracts, and closing.

I think we do a lot of wash, rinse and repeat seller management but, I also think that if we do our jobs right, our clients never feel like they are among the herds of clients we've helped.

I do my best to personalize their experience and just like your client exclaimed, the little things we do that they don't see other agents doing in our area, makes them feel that sense even more.

BTW, I've had that call and I have a grin on my face for the rest of the day! 😉
