I had some success with freelogodesign.org.   It is a do it yourself site, which is ok if you don't need fancy and intricate.  It is not free, but it was inexpensive.

You offer a certain amount of money, and a bunch of designers bid for your prize with a design.

The more you offer, the better the designers will be.

I think above $50 you'll get some good designs.

When we started our brokerage 8 years ago, I hired a graphic artist, and also put it out to fiverr.  Neither produced anything that worked for us.  My husband said "how hard can it be?" and went to Office Max and bought a $20 logo program.  This is how we got our logo.  It has been tweeked a few times over the years, but you know better than anyone how you want to be seen to the world. 

The vas can do one for you but I don't think we can get it done today:( 

Most people on Fiverr would need like 48 hour turnaround also.

we used a local print shop owner who is very creative.... you might want to speak to someone locally....

Corinne Guest I used Logo Arena and received logos from about 30 different online designers, was able to ask each for changes and was very pleased with the outcome. Took several days and cost about $250.

I used Fiverr and found someone to create an avitar for me.  There are lots options on there.

A good logo isn't usually cheap, but you can get lucky on Fiverr.....for something really basic that would be my suggestion.  Design Pickle is another good option for a monthly fee for a company that does on-demand graphic design.  Decent design work and fair pricing with good turnaround times.

I was interested in what others would say - I did not have a suggestion to share. Good luck - look forward to seeing what you end up with.

www.fiverr.com has a great section where you can look at the portfolio of several different people who design logos inexpensively. Make sure to choose someone with a high rating.
