I have, and it wasn't easy.  And I'll probably think twice before I take on another hoarder house.

Oh Yea...just this past spring

I was asked to come look at a professor's house to put on the market. There were boxes piled to the ceiling and a narrow path through the house. It was oppressive and my lack of enthusiasm showed. I didn't get the listing and that was okay with me.

Yes and it took them 9 months to clear it out! Hoarding is a mental illness but I got the right people to help..listed the home and it sold!

Hasn't happened yet but there is a seller I have been talking with for several years who says when she is ready to sell it's me. She hoards books!!

Wow!!  We have had a couple of these clients within our brokerage - in which you cannot even see the floor.  It looks like you have a real issue here.

      Walked away from a high end listing, because it looked similar to your picture.  Magazines stacked to the ceiling in the hallways, two car garage packed like a can of sardines, every room crammed with stuff.

Yes, and it was very difficult to explain what "staging your home" is all about!  The best way to sell a home like this is for the seller to move out, call in a cleaning crew and painter ... I've had to do that a few times and it worked out well.

Once and this picture would be minor in comparison. She would dumpster dive.

Yes. It took us one whole week to help her pack. The worst part is when she couldn't decide what to box and what to throw out...I mean, donate.

I had clients in escrow on a house where the owner was a serious horder.  The photo you show was the equivalent of her "cleaned up" house after two weeks of cleaning for the inspection.

I rented a place to person who had floor to ceiling storage in every room with paths carved out to come & go I kid you not. I had people coming to see this

Yes, I told them to separate their stuff into separate piles: to keep, throw away, and donate. I remind them that they are moving into a much smaller home and it's costly to hire a mover to move things that they do not even use anymore.

Ha, that's child's play to one I had this past January; my guy took a 45 day escrow when we could have closed in 10 days (all cash) because I had to daily push him to remove, dump, pack, haul...etc. You had to shuffle step sideways between the aisles he created to maneuver his house.

Several, I had one house where the Attic space was full of 40 years of railroading magazines. the ceiling was beginning to crack under the weight. It took  a pickup load then (2) 20 yard containers to empty that space not to mention the rats.

As in listed a home? YES... and more than once. Only once were we not able to get the seller to cooperate to sell the home. Many times it is a must, and family gets involved

Yes and 4 years later, I'm still waiting on them to declutter!
