Time blocking in any business is important.

It can be if used wrong, but myself I strive to get better and better at it every day.

I have gotten listings, and sold homes using it, so it works for me.

Why yes Michael it is. Have to keep yourself in check 24/7.

I've started using Hootsuite this year because of it & I feel that I have a better handle on it. Still have to think of a better 'process' of sharing all that great info I find.

Not for me. I keep to a schedule for work time media activity. If I am just being social during free time that's a choice and I don't find it's wasteful.

One has to decide what is a time waster.   I usually peruse FB while waiting for clients to show up, and AR before my phone is turned on.

I do not think so, it depends if you act or react there. 

I can spend too many hours on social media. I use my calendar for scheduling time blocks for business. Don't think it's a time waster but can consume many hours that one can't get back.
