15 FULL SERVICE listing at one time will consume all the band width available for the solo agent. If you understand the average number of hours each transaction takes (the type of real estate effects the average) it is easy to project the maximun bandwidth available.

If other methods of selling a house is presented to home owners, the total count can be modified upward if 'no touch' models are offered.

The reality is, "full service" to many agents simply means, what ever I feel like or have time to do, therefore, allowing a higher count to be maintained and a dissappointed seller in the wake.

Not a set number, no.  Same thing for the number of buyers I take on.  If or when I feel I can't deliver the quality service I demand of myself, I refer the clients out.   Sometimes, I can put clients together without even listing.   That happened last week, buyer wanted to make an offer on $600K property but required a buyers contingency.  Came to view home, we discussed price, and told her I have a client in mind I am working with (whom I had showed over 40 homes).  Brought him by the next day, and we are under contract on that and the $600K listing.  Nice when things come together.
