Changing the Face of Real Estate:

         Here we are sitting in front of our computers in 2008 listening to National News about a housing crisis.  We'll I can tell you right now that things aren't as bad as they seem.  I heard a statistic from the National Association of Realtors earlier this month that claimed the United States could be facing as many as 1% foreclosures (the highest in history).  If you look at that from an optimistic view that means that 99% of Americans are responsible and ARE paying their mortgages on time.

         I have always been fascinated by all aspects of Real Estate.  Residential, Commercial, Land Development - you name it and I find it interesting.  Real Estate is more than putting a sign in the front yard, snapping a few pictures (which some agents are incapable of doing) and waiting for the buyers to show up. 

              So Brian, What is Real Estate?

        I'm glad you asked.  Real Estate is a blend of Contract Law, Personal Interaction, Communication, Problem Solving and Property.  Everyday I see people, especially first time buyers, sit down with their agent to make an offer not knowing anything about the entire process.  People...Educate yourself, this is one major decision your making so don't put all your trust into someone you just met.

                   What Should I do?

        Like I said above, Educate yourself before you enter the Real Estate Market.  Interview Agents, Check their Credentials (Did you know that you don't need a college degree to sell Real Estate - don't get me wrong there are some great agents out there without degrees, but see for yourself)
