As Toll Brothers, the home builder, did report a loss in the 3rd quarter, there are some significant up sides of this down: -contract cancellations reached their lowest level in nine quarters.....that could mean that buyers are more serious now -traffic and deposits are said to be stabilizing.......

If you're planning on putting your home on the market, and fall is an excellent time to do so, consider sprucing it up first. Just a few simple cosmetic changes won't cost you very much and they can make a big difference to a buyer... First take out the stuff...you should throw out the clutter......
