Ok maybe not overnight, but I'm not aware of a faster growing region in the Horry County market.  During the big real estate boom developers hurried snatch up all the available property they could.  Soon enough farm fields starting growing houses, a grocery store was added, and now the commericial sector has taken off.  Seventeen major subdivisions are slated to begin in the next few months all located between loris and longs along Hwy 9.  What was once just a peach stand and convience store stop between sleeply little Loris and the bustleing Myrtle Beach has grown into much, much more.  Local's say the Hwy 9 in the new 501 and with all the new growth it is hard to dispute the point.  10/05/2007

          Well, the Myrtle Beach Fall Bike Rally is almost here.  Only a few weeks away.  The rally will take place this year October 3-October 7.  One popular hangout will not be as big of a part of the festivities this year as usual...H.B. Spokes Saloon.  This popular biker bar was destroyed by fire early Monday morning.       H.B. Spokes was located on Highway 9 in Longs, right outside of North Myrtle Beach.  The cause of the fire has not been determined yet, as investigators are still working on the case.  The owners are still hoping to have some vendors set up in the parking lot, but it will be quite different than past years.  H.B. National news says we are in a very bad slump. Our numbers say not as bad as they advertise. Prices are down, but we are not in a desperate market.
