A couple years ago when I called to make an appointment for one of my dog's to see the vet I dialed the wrong office.  The receptionist who answered the phone there was very helpful and friendly, but she just could not locate my dogs records and suggested that maybe I called the wrong place (apparently that happens often).  We hung up and I looked up the phone number again and discovered I had called the wrong office.  I called the right number and found that the receptionist was not very friendly. I remembered that the previous times we took our dogs there the staff didn't really seem to care about them.  I guess I expected that if you work in a vet's office you must love animals.  So, why wasn't anyone oooing and awwwing over my dogs and trying to make them feel more comfortable?  I e... 08/21/2008

I was working from home today and had a knock on the door.  I'm thinking, oh great, another walking salesperson trying to sell me a cleaning product... a few weeks ago one of those knocked on the door while I was showing a house.  Anyway, the woman introduced herself and said she was from the EPA and that they were inspecting septic systems in our area.  They are checking to make sure there is no sewage leaking into the yard and ditch.  If you have an aeration system they are checking to make sure that the motor is running.  She gave me a copy of our current septic record that shows a map of how it's laid out on the property and the date it was installed.  She also gave me a nice brochure about how to maintain the system and why it's important to do so.  If you hear a knock on your door... 08/12/2008

Many homebuyers have become interested in purchasing a bank foreclosed property.  These properties have attracted the attention of buyers because they are usually listed below their true market value.  The main problem is that getting a bank to put a mortgage on the property is sometimes easier said than done due to the condition of some of the homes.  If you are interested in purchasing a bank foreclosure and plan to occupy the property please keep in mind the following guidelines. The house will need to be in safe, sanitary, and liveable condition.  The bank will not want to lend you money to purchase a home that is missing essential parts like a furnace, or plumbing, or if the roof is leaking etc. Water must be on at the time of appraisal and inspection if the buyer is having one.The... 10/30/2007
