Town of Lagrange annual Community Day at Freedom Park will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009.   There will be community service booths, games, entertainment, D.J. Rendition, a petting zoo, fireworks and more.  Music will be provided by the various Arlington school district's music groups and Harvest Band. This is a FREE event. It's that time of year again!  The Town of LaGrange Parks & Recreation Department will be sponsering the Concert Series at Freedom Park.  All concerts start at 7:00pm.  In the event of rain, concerts will be held in the pavilion next to the band shell. LaGrange voters will be asked to approve up to $2 million to preserve open space on November 4th. The town adopted an open space plan last year that includes acquiring conservation easements on farmland and other parcels in LaGrange to protect them against development. The town based its open space plan, in part, on surveys of LaGrange residents. The LaGrange town board last week voted 4-1 to place the open space initiative on the ballot. So, put on some layers and come outdoors! There are many winter activities waiting for you in the mid-Hudson Valley during the winter season - from hiking to cross-country skiing to snowshoeing. Not too far away in the Catskills there are many downhill ski slopes too - check out Belleayre, Hunter and Windham mountains. My favorite place for sledding is James Baird State Park in LaGrange.
