Hampton Beach NH devastated by fire       You may have heard about or lived through  Wind Storm 2010. Many people in New Hampshire lost power, which meant that they had no heat or running water.  We were lucky to only have been without for three days but some are still out today a full seven days after the storm hit. Not only were we without power but our area in southern NH also suffered a huge fire at the beach. Hampton Beach is a popular destination for many people not only in NH but in New England. Hoepfully the area will be rebuilt better than ever.   03/04/2010

        I have a few new listings coming on the market here on the Seacoast however am having to be creative with photos, getting information, meeting with clients etc due to power outages, road closings and the terrible fire on Hampton Beach.  This storm did a number on the beginning of the spring market and more importantly on the families of New Hampshire's Seacoast. Moon Rise over the Atlantic Jay and I took a ride over to the beach the other night in attempts to catch the full moon rising over the ocean. I think there is nothing more magical than seeing the Full Moon rise.... no matter where you are. I've seen it crest over the White Mountains of New Hampshire and beautiful Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor Maine to name a few places but there is nothing like seeing it rise over the ocean and hearing the sounds of nature in the back ground.   I hope you enjoy my little video.  Hampton Beach New Hampshire has loads of summer fun scheduled all summer long every year!  This year is a little more special in that it's the "100th Anniversary Celebration of the Hampton Beach Village District" of Hampton NH.    To kick off this year's special celebration, Hampton Beach held their 'Seventh Annual Hampton Beach Master Sand Sculpting Contest".  And what scultping masterpieces they were, too!  WOW! The Master Sculptors who take part in this event come from all over North America.  This year's competitors hailed from Florida, Massachusetts, New York, Ontario, Quebec, Texas, and Ohio.  Many of these competitors have been competiting for years, and out of the 13 master sculptors taking part this year, five of them are considered to be the strongest carvers in the world.   ... 06/24/2007

 I had meetings most of the day today but found a small window of opportunity that won't be available again until late Saturday. So I took it and headed to the Beach. I'd been itching to go all week because 300 tons of imported sand was dropped on Hampton Beach last Friday all in preparation for Hampton Beach's 7th Annual Sand Sculpture Competition. This is something you just have to see as pictures simply do not do it justice. I love the beach especially on those cloudy, rainy days when most people stay home curled up on the couch. Yesterday was Jay's birthday and as is our custom the birthday person gets to decide what they want to do. He couldn't decide, although I'd bet if the weather had been better he might have chosen golfing, so I decided for him. NH has a small ocean coastline with only 18 miles of rocky and sandy very changeable coastline. It's an easy ride with much of the coast visible from the car. From our home in Hampstead it is a quick 35 minute ride to Hampton beach.  We left around 1pm and thought we'd go pick up some lunch at Ceal's in Seabrook Beach and then drive up the coast.Ceal's Clam Stand is nothing to look at but it is famous for it's homemade seafood chowder.
