Long Grove Homes and Sales in the surrounding area continue to rise for Single Family Homes. Year to Date 289 homes have sold and are up 24.6% from this time last year, median sale prices are down 2%, which is certainly not bad considering the high end market of Long Grove. Currently there are 510 Homes on the market as Long Grove Real Estate continues to show recovery from a down housing market (60047 also includes Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer and Lake Zurich). Just like every town in the Northwest Suburbs, Long Grove has been affected by all of the short sales and foreclosures; currently there are 67 on the market in the area. Long Grove Real Estate Market Update- by Long Grove Realtor, Judy Greenberg- September 2010  How is the Long Grove real estate market doing? Everywhere I go these days, whether at my son's flag football games , Stevenson's open house, or even earlier in the morning walking my dog, friends and neigbors are asking me the same question, how is the Long Grove Real estate market doing?    If you want my complete answer, we need to meet for coffee.  Here is my condensed version of what is going on!           The Mulitple Listing Service indicates the average Long Grove sales price  in the first three quarters of 2009 was $759,770 (see above ) and in the first three quarters of 2010 (see below)the average sales price was only $610,211. That's boils down to a 20 percent decrease in prices in on... 10/12/2010

The latest information from RANWC is very positive regarding sales through September of this year for Long Grove, Hawthorn Woods and Kildeer. Our sales in all 3 towns have gone up and the information below is good news for all. Sales of Long Grove Homes through September of 2009 were 52 and Sales through September of 2010 were 63 so the Long Grove Market went up 21.2%.  Sales of Hawthorn Woods Homes through September of 2009 were 55 and sales through September of 2010 were 62 so the Hawthorn Woods Market went up 12.5%. Sales of Kildeer Homes through September of 2009 were26 and through September of 2010 were 39 so the Kildeer Market went up 50%. Sunset Foods in Long Grove  is opening finally in January of 2011.  I have been posting articles in my blog about Sunset Foods coming to Long Grove since 2007.  I have been salivating(ok that is an exaggeration)  since that time and 4 years later, I am still anxiously awaiting the opening of the Sunset Foods in the  community.  Many Long Grove residents (including myself) continue to drive by the new Sunset Foods location at the corner of Aptakisic and Route 83 and imagine all of the goodies waiting for them upon the stores completion. One of my favorite times of the year is October when the leaves are all changing colors and beautiful fall days.  While most homeowner in Long Grove are busy cleaning up the leaves the kids are all getting ready for the excitement of Halloween.  The stores are filled with wonderful decorations and great costumes.  The kids are anticipating all the the candy they will be collecting.  It is the beginning of the countdown to Halloween by visiting  Didier Farms in Buffalo Grove.  Didier Farms is located off of Aptakisic Road and has been a favorite for both kids and Adults.  They have pony rides, hayrides, sunshine crafts and a wonderful petting zoo.  Many of the schools in the area schedule daily field trips to the farms.  They have the best Halloween activities around.  Please note the sc... 09/24/2010
