Enjoying Fall weather Florida style means not having to run the air conditioning all the time! The windows are open in the house as well as the car and you can actually walk around outside and not die of heat stroke! Yes, the Fall weather has arrived and I am loving it!!! Yesterday my two favorite clients decided to treat me to an early birthday dinner, We had dinner at Shepard's on Clearwater Beach Florida, which is a wonderful resort that always has a great buffet! We sat outside and watched the sun slowly sink over the Gulf of Mexico while we had our dinner. Naturally I took a few photos, such as this one of what I had for dinner. I had shrimp, grouper, wasabi with California rolls, asparagus, maple sweet potato, smoked salmon, just about a TON of fresh shaved ginger and for desert a few slices of fresh pineapple! We were there for a couple of hours, enjoying the food and the view! So as you can see, I have already started celebrating my birthday!!!! And it was a wonderful beginning! This was so adorable that I had to share it with my colleagues here in ActiveRain. Ron pulled this out of a box full of photos this weekend and I immediately scanned it into my computer! It was taken on Clearwater Beach around 1951 and that little blond haired kid holding the pole that is hooked to a giant Grouper is little Ronnie! Ron's folks moved to Florida when he was only a couple of month's old and his father and uncle owned charter fishing boats on Clearwater Beach. Ron grew up on those boats and as he got into elementary and middle school, helped by cleaning those boats. In this photo is his grandfather and grandfather's brother. Clearwater Point Condos are located south of the Sand Key Bridge on Clearwater Beach Florida! This is a wonderful group of condos with a private beach and three swimming pools for the residents to enjoy! Many of the buildings are only 3 floors high and line the beach and waterfront while there are a few that are higher buildings (in the middle and to the left of the photo). Currently there are 17 condos for sale in this community ranging from a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo that has 1310 sq ft and is selling for $249,000 up to a 2/2 also with 1310 sq ft selling for $359,000. I take pictures along the way because it is so beautiful there.   Palm trees are everywhere. BP Oil Spill and Clearwater Beach Florida   On April 30, 2010 Governor Charlie Crist issued a declaration of a State of Emergency in the Panhandle coastal counties of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Bay, and Gulf due to the BP Oil Deepwater Horizon Incident which can be seen here: http://www.flgov.com/pdfs/10-99-horizon.pdf   On May 3, 2010 Governor Crist added more counties which now include Franklin, Wakulla, Jefferson, Taylor, Dixie, Levi, Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee, and Sarasota counties. Aubrey, my adorable granddaughter, loves the shark tank at the Clearwater Marine Science Center Aquarium! I took her there this afternoon and we watched the dolphin show but it was the sharks that she was so attracted to. We had to return back there again so she could sit next to the nurse sharks and watch them! What could be more exciting for a little kid then seeing creatures of the sea up close and personal! Clearwater Marine Science Center on Island Estates in Clearwater Beach, Florida is indeed a great place to go for an educational afternoon! Whether you want to see dolphins, sharks, rays or a wonderful assortment of local fish, this is the place to visit! The Clearwater Marine Science Center is, as the sign says, a rescue, rehabilitation and release center unless the rescued sea inhabitants are too ill to make it in the wild again. Then they remain at the aquarium, which is the case of the four dolphins currently residing there full time! Check their website for hours of operation and times of the various shows! BP Oil Spill and Clearwater Beach Florida Tar balls have unfortunately arrived at the shores of Pensacola Beach Florida which is located at the northwest part of the State of Florida   Oystermen in Apalachicola Bay, Florida are racing to gather as many oysters as they can before the oil spreads to their area. What about Clearwater Florida? I have taken some videos in the last few days. This is one of them. Fortunately as of June 5, 2010 there are no visible signs of tar balls. Not yet anyway and today I swam for hours in Clearwater Beach. If you are considering visiting the area so far it has not been damaged yet.
