Located directly across Shady Beach highlights one of East Norwalk's best kept secrets: Taylor Farm,  an off-leash dog park offering 4.5 acres of wide open play areas.  The park is separated by a modest wooded section with many paths and hiking trails connecting both sides. There are two main entrances into the park--the south area that is directly across from the beach and the north entrance by Marvin Elementary School.  Although not completely fenced-in, Taylor Farm feels safe and secure for both pets and their owners. In addition to the open space and wooded area, there is a small aerated briny pond.  This is a favorite of the "water dogs" as they romp by the shore and swim in the pond.  A few picnic benches are scattered throughout the park as rest areas for pet owners.   Please not...

Last week I wrote about “IRS Collection Letters” (CP 501,503 and 504) that become increasingly threatening as time goes on and your tax debt remains unpaid. You can also link to my first blog, the “IRS Collection Process” which is an overview of what you are in for if you owe the IRS back taxes. After the 501/503/504, the next letter you get is the scariest. It’s known as the “Final IRS Notice” (before they start cleaning out your bank account). The “Final IRS Notice” comes in two (2) different numbers, Letter 11 from the “Automated Collection Services” division, or Letter 1058 from “IRS Field Collections”.The first thing you should do after receiving one of these letters is to contact a tax professional.Next, read page 2 of the letter which talks to your right to a “Collection Due Process...

What does the New Tax Law Mean for Home Buyers & Owners? The purpose of the new tax las is to put more money in the hands of the consumers by lowering the tax rate and increasing standard deductions. The higher standard deductions and changes in itemized deductions will mean fewer individuals will itemize their tax return. Three major changes in the tax code are:- The maximum mortgage amount for which interest can be written off has been lowered from one million dollars to $750,000, though this provision does not apply to existing financing in place. Deductions for property tax, state and local income tax are capped at $10,000 starting in 2018. Home equity loan interest is no longer deductible. There is a silver lining to all this, the goal of putting more money in the consumers pocket ...

Best Marble & Tile in Fairfield County, CT.A month after I sold a fixer upper to my buyers they called me up in a panic. Their renovation is on track but they cannot find the right style of tile and marble. They had visited six of the most popular marble and tile stores in the area with absolutely no luck. Since they were doing a whole house renovation they were looking for bath, kitchen, mudroom tile and stone countertops. As an afterthought they called me since I had been their Realtor who happens to have a background in residential construction and property management. After a very long conversation on the ups and downs of their search for the perfect marble and tile I knew exactly where to send them. I told them for over twenty years I and many of my high end builders have been work...

I recently experienced something I never want to experience again.  And here's the thing:  It was all my own doing.  No one to blame but myself.Ok, that was my mea culpa announcement.  Now let me tell you what happened:After almost 20 years as a real estate agent, I recently had my banner year for income.  It was a wonderful year of working with both buyers and sellers.  Most of these clients were personal referral and their price points were well above average for my area.  My marketing systems, CRM, on-line presence were also performing well.  I was busy and really feeling in control of business.  Then towards the end of the calender year I started to get a bit burned out and decided to slow myself down.It started with taking full weekends off and avoiding hosting public open houses--...
