Pay It Forward - $10 to a single mom living out of a hotel room Earlier this week, I was driving home from my weekly meeting with my networking group, and was at a stop at a major intersection right before I got onto the freeway. There was a woman there who looked to be maybe in her late 20's on the corner with a cardboard sign that read: "Single Mom living out of a hotel.  Need help" God forgive me, but I am sometimes skeptical of the reasons why some people do these types of solicitations on the street corner. Yet at the same time, I know very well that many people are truly down on their luck, so my sense of wanting to "save the world" prevails and I try to do what I can. Putting Zillow to The Test: My $948.60+ Adventure - Day 30 - Update Alright, peeps. So I'm 1/3 of the way through my 90-day benchmark with Zillow. Here is my activity listed on Zillow: If you look at my stats, although it shows I've had 9 contacts, I've actually had eleven contacts (not sure why?). One of those was before I became a premiere agent (Contact #3), and it was an inquiry for one of my listings (not in the zip code I have paid for). Here is a tutorial on how to search for homes in Sherman Oaks on Chandler Estates.  At the end of the tutorial you can click the search for property link to start your home search in Sherman Oaks and zoom in to see all available homes for sale on Chandler. The San Fernando Valley is famous for many reasons. Some know it as the "valley of the stars" others recognize it as the' other movie industry's center', that is the Porn Capital of the World. Different cities are vying for the title. Some of people consider it the Sherman Oaks hills. I was going on a listing appointment and the owner of the house was telling me, that two streets from her house, she knows someone who was a "neighbor" to a "studio". With the year winding down to a close and lenders in good holiday spirits not to foreclose, I wonder when we shall start to see the flood of bank owned homes hit the real estate market here in the San Fernando Valley. I don't know the exact statistics, but my instincts tell me that the number of available bank owned homes for sale in the San Fernando Valley has fallen 50-75% since May 2009.  What this is telling me is that banks are trying to keep home-owners in their home by attempting to extend the foreclosure deadline. Lenders want to give home-owner more time to attempt to modify their home loan.  But in reality, most of these home-owners will probably not be able to save their home and will eventually default even on their modified loan.
