As a Realtor at Dilbeck Real Estate in La Canada Flintridge, I am blessed to work so very close by to Descanso Gardens. It is a huge and beautiful oasis of peace and serenity that is a wonderful place to stop and smell the roses. Literally!  They have many community events there as well. There is a train ride for the little ones, several beautiful gardens, a camillia forest, a tea garden and much much more. They have a plant sale every spring, an Easter Egg Hunt for Easter, a Mother's Day Brunch and several other activities. There is a small entrance fee but it is well worth it. Real Estate Market Report La Cañada Flintridge, CA                                      February, 2010   At A Glance La Cañada Flintridge continues to have the lowest Market Activity Index of the areas I monitor.  Important points this month:  A big increase in new pending listings and a drop in the Months of Inventory from 8.9 to 6.9 months.  Interest rates are forecast to increase by as much as a half point so now would be a great time to lock your rate. Market Activity Index 0.29, up 12 points. The Market Index is back to the same level as May-June levels - talk about back to the old days.  Last year it was 0.12 - so even with this 12 point jump, still the lowest in the area.   New Listings - 22, up from 24 last month and up from last year's 35.  You might be interested to know that ... 03/12/2010

If you have been watching the news over the past several days, you have probably seen the news about certain Los Angeles area neighborhoods being evacuated due to the rains causing possible mudslide danger.  One such neighborhood is La Canada Flintridge, where we live and work.  Many communities have an Emergency Notification System (commonly called a Reverse 911 system).   This system is used to notify residents of emergencies in their neighborhoods, including warnings and alerts.  Such a system is also employed by various schools and school districts, among other entities.
