In the past few weeks I've had several occassions where I've called on the availability of a listing and received a text message back from the listing agent.  I'm cool with that.  I like my iphone and I enjoy texting.  Then twice in the last 3 weeks I've had a scenario where from availability to offer to counter offer acceptance the entire transaction was done via email and I never got to speak to the listing agent even once!  Now I love gadgets (told you i'd be stir crazy if I ever lost my iphone) and techonology, damn it I own a technology company for heavens sake but yet I find that some times in business you need to have a good old phone conversation as well - hey it worked for years didn't it?  Well, so i'm wondering what's next - are we ready to discuss availability on properties ... 06/26/2009

My local service area which includes the Phoenix West Valley cities of Avondale, Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Surprise and Glendale has been one of the hardest hit real estate markets in the country. As a result, most new clients in these cities always want to start with foreclosures. Thanks to dozens of late night infomercials and a host of real estate companies touting foreclosure auctions, the average consumer assumes that bank owned properties always sell below the market. They have been trained into thinking that they can find houses for 50 cents on the dollar and that banks are desperate sellers looking to rid themselves of any house on their books. After reading many, many of the featured blogs I am still at a loss as to the reason some articles get featured and others dont. I have written about every subject I could think of and still no success. The big news for the week this time is the fact that Goodyear has overcome challenges in transportation, education and recreation and for doing so has been named one of the 10 All-American cities.  The honor came on the evening of June 6th at the National Civic League's annual conference held in Tampa, Fl.  Being named an  All American City requires an application that includes extensive information on challenges facing a city and how that city has met three of those challenges.  The challenges Goodyear was faced with were the congestion on I-10, attracting higher education and problems involving BMX riders causing damage to the city's skateboard park.  All three have been addressed or are being addressed right now like the widening of I-10 which wasn't supposed to happen till 2011.  Ju... 06/13/2008
