As we enter the final month of 2021, I reflect on the results of this year’s past efforts and make my plan for next year. I’m fairly certain we all do this every December, realtors or not.I conclude that for me personally the year was a successful one. To improve or repeat these results, I need to have a “new perspective” on the same things I have been doing to see more opportunities that surround me. From a realtor perspective, there have been times when I’ve walked by a house and noticed that something looked different - the grass was unkempt and looked as if it could have used a good watering. Clearly this could present an opportunity for a listing and offering help to someone in need. Sure enough, the next thing I knew there was a For Sale Sign on the property and it wasn’t mine.Des...

Abalone Cove Beach Views & TipsAbalone Cove beach is located on the southwest portion of rancho palos verdes on the palos verdes peninsula. This 1.1 mile out-and-back hike whose path seems straightforward, but here are 9 "things I wish I'd known" before visiting: Abalone cove beach and its hiking trails feature rugged hills with coastal vegetation and wild flowers and is good for most skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Let’s get to our numbered tips:1. PARKING: There is a paid parking lot. The first 30 minutes are not charged, and then it's $2 an hour. If you're wanting the steps and watching the budget, there is street parking near the fire station that is west of abalone cove.2. CLOSURES: There is a hiking trail that can be closed...

Aura sure has some wonderful advice for continued business success. If you haven't yet, please go to her page and give this featured post a read, you'll be glad you did! Time is fleeting. That’s for sure. It’s close to the beginning of a new year. New goals. And new directions. Of course, building, managing, and growing a business is complex, especially at the outset. It’s a project so much bigger than you are. Its sheer size and complexity can be daunting to the point of paralysis.  So, how do you create momentum in the face of a vast project? And once it’s made, how do you maintain it? These are questions with no easy answers. Good news! Creating momentum is a process. Like any process, it can be studied. Learned. And ultimately mastered. There are keys to building and maintaining tha...

Originally I was going to title this "Put your money where your mouth is" but I'm old enough and wise enough to know that the following demand is someone asking the government to use my money, NOT theirs. In the 1970's the City of Minot took on a huge project to thwart the damage from future flooding of the Mouse River which flows through the heart of the city. Part of this monstrous project was to "straighten out" the river by cutting a new, wider and straighter path to let the water get through the city ASAP.This was a great and effective idea (until 2011) BUT what do you do with those now cut off sections of the original river bed? The answer, back then, was to label them as dead loops and to manage the water flow in and out of them to add to the over-all flood mitigation. Sounds good...

By Renovation Find, Helping you find the best renovation companies.
You never know what you'll find in an old basement. In the early 1960s, a man in Turkey began renovating a house he'd recently bought. While tearing down some basement walls, he found an ancient underground city now known as Derinkuyu. While you probably won't find any underground cities in your basement, you might find a few things in need of fixing or replacing. Basement renovation can be complicated, so many prefer to hire a basement renovation service to do the job for them.As with any service, you'll need to hire the right basement renovators. We'll offer some advice on how to find them in this article.1. Make Sure the Company has Workers' CompensationWorkers' Compensation Programs are vital when hiring renovators. It may seem like not your problem if the company doesn't offer worke...

If you haven't seen this TV Show and you enjoy drama and a good storyline, you need to check out this show.   Not only do all the episodes have a good storyline, but the show will make you feel good too.   It is all about first responders and all that happens in their lives including outside of work.Angela Bassett is one of the major actors, and in the 2nd season Jennifer Love Hewitt joined and the actors not as well-known are very good as well. I started with the first episode season one, and binge-watched 4 shows the first night, and haven't stopped.    Every show has something happening, and am now well into the 2nd season, and will not stop until I get caught up.

Carol Williams and Andrea Bedard challenged the ActiveRain community in the December Challenge: 'Tis the Season for Miracles & Scares to “take a look back and identify the one thing you'd like to scare away or free yourself from, and not bring into the new year with you.”For me, New Year's Eve is like a reset button.  The end of a year is a great time to reflect on the year and decide, both personally and professionally, what changes we would like to make.  Notice I did not say resolutions. The ONE thing I am letting go of is the nasty habit I created for myself during the pandemic. That habit is simply stated as overeating!  While what I eat is good clean organic food, (no junk food) eating too much is not healthy. I am sporting XX COVID pounds that neither feel good nor look good.  Th...
