About Jon, Loan Officer:

I was born and raised on the San Francisco Peninsula, one of the best places in the world to grow up.  I went to school at St. Pius , in Redwood City.  I grew up with a love of baseball and basketball, and pursued those dreams as I went to Serra High School in San Mateo.  Yes...that is where Tom Brady went to school. (As you can see, I have had that question a couple times)

I then went to St. Mary’s College of California in Moraga, where I studied and graduated with a degree in business, and played volleyball on the St. Mary's Club Team. 

After graduating from St. Mary’s College of California , I went to work for a small commercial real estate company in Walnut Creek.  I was able to gain a ton of knowledge and value from my experience on the commercial side in my 5 year tenure.  But because of my strong desire to work with individuals instead of businesses, where I could see the tremendous impact of my efforts firsthand by helping my clients realize their homeownership dreams, I transitioned into residential lending.  Fortunately, I was able to translate the experience and skills I had gained in the commercial sector to my work here, with Mercury Lending. 

I currently live in Hayward, in the East Bay.  I live with my gorgeous wife Erika (a teacher at the California School for the Deaf in Fremont), my adorable 1 year old daughter, Ramie, et al.  I spend most of my free time either with my family, or working on my house (it never ends).

I work with almost anyone.  Let's face it, some people just have the qualifications to buy or refinance, andGolden Gate Bridge I work with those clients to get them where they need to be.

I work with people in all credit ranges, and my best niche is getting people into products that most other people wouldn't be able to do.  We are surprised with what great things we can do for people.  Automated underwriting has come to be one of my best tools, to get the best possible situation when others couldn't.

Programs Offered:

100% Financing- Each case is different, call for your options!

Fixed Rates- Now is as good a time as any to get into a fixed rate.  We have fixed rates on for all borrowers, with terms from 15 up to 50 Years.

Adjustable Rates- These loans have rate fixed for a period of time, typically between 2 and 10 years.  They offer lower interest rates than traditional fixed rate mortgages, but often times you may be better off getting a fixed rate mortgage.

Option Arms- I have written about Option Arms in my blog, make sure you are aware of the pros and cons of this loan type.  Always ask questions, and please feel free to call anytime for a detailed explanation.

2nd Mortgages- These loans will be in 2nd lien position on your title report.  They are often used to consolidate debt, take cash-out of your equity, invest in other real estate, or send your kids to college.  This loan offers a fixed rate with a scheduled pay off after a period of time.

Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC)- This loan is similar to a 2nd Mortgage, but has the functions similar to a credit card in that you pay interest on what you use, and can pay the line down as you see fit!  This loan is often tied to the Prime Rate, with a "margin" over prime to get your fully indexed rate, which is the rate you will pay interest on.

San Francisco Mayors Office of Housing- The San Francisco Mayor's Office of Housing has products to help homebuyers in the city reach their goals of homeownership.  Call to talk about some of these options!

This letter is to express my thanks and gratitude to Jon Vetter.  When we first say the model at Alta Mar Villas in Fremont, we knew that we had found what we were looking for.  Great condition, great location, and a reasonable price tag.  What we didn't know about the Alta Mar was all the hassles and red tape it took to buy a place there.  On top of that we didn't have the best credit.  The condo complex had a "preferred lender" but they never returned our phone calls, and were down right rude at times.  We met Jon through a friend of ours, and were immediately impressed by the high level of service that he provided.  Without hesitation we fired the "preferred lender" immediately and hired Jon.  It was a long process with all of the hold ups from the builders, but after 5 long months I am pleased to announce that we just picked up the kers and are now moving in.  Jon stuck with us through the whole arduous process often meeting with us in the evenings to answer our questions and to let us know where we were in the whole process.  He kept in touch with builders, sales people, and title companies to keep us up to date.  Most importantly, he was friendly, honest, and professional.  I would highly recommend Jon and Mercury Lending to others.  So to Jon, and everybody else at Mercury Lending that we didn't actually meet, we give our thanks.  Thanks for not giving up on us.
