It's A Sad DayThe Titus and Philemon comic strip had not appeared in our newspaper (The Minot Daily News) for three days so I called up the paper to see if there was a problem. Yes there was. I was told by the editor that the parent company that owns the paper decided it no longer fit their format and it was discontinued.That's not cool! It was a blow to Timmothy. After 3 years of providing them his cartoon every day (for free) they dropped him.Considering the Minot Daily News keeps getting thinner and it's circulation is about a forth of what it was 10 years ago you wouldn't think they would drop FREE local art.Guess who will not be renewing their subscription?While we are thankful that they did run Timmothy's strip for three years it was rotten for them to drop it without warning. Oh ... 04/13/2024

Chubby Baker in Orem, which is right next to Provo Utah is my recent discovery of the best place to get your sugar fix! They even have a sign in their window that says they are your ‘sugar dealer’. Oh my… their donuts are delicious… and I don’t even favor donuts! The only donut I tell people I will eat is a Krispy Kreme glazed donut, and ONLY when the RED Hot light is on. But … I just changed my mind! Chubby Baker donuts are so soft and delicious. Their flavors are not your typical donut flavors. Chubby Baker makes regular donuts but their claim to fame are their filled donuts and the fact they are home-made fresh. This bakery is a fusion of Asian and American ingredients and flavors. So I just wrote about Got a drone / unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) (activerain.com)Here is my first test video of flying around the neighborhood.1st video (youtube.com) 1st drone video I created testing things out.  I do have others that I am posting, I know it will take practice to get down the movement and timing of flying them. The first thing you just try not to crash it but then you start to pick up how to scan and time of moving from left to right in a 360. There were some tips on how to shoot a good video to do a approach to the property and end the video with backing out. Got my small UAS drone this last week, so I downloaded the manufacture suggested app, then found there was an additional app to fly it from the manufacture to check if theres restricted zones before I fly.   Then I registered it with the Federal Aviation Administration so I put a label on it with the registration number got my license to fly it from FAA.   Then took the Trust safety test, and applied for the IACRA number and the dropzone account.   Then you have the check with https://www.faa.gov/uas/programs_partnerships/data_exchange FAA-approved UAS Service Supplier (USS) of the Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC; pronounced “lance”) to make sure no one is flying around you.       Then lastDownloading the B4UFly apps. https://twitter.com/FAADroneZone   I f... 04/12/2024

Today, while waiting for a pre-settlement walkthrough, I found a fascinating YouTube video. It is comparing prices on Dollar Tree prices and Amazon prices. I was astonished and decided to use this as this week's Philadelphia Steals and Deals. I purchased some of these items myself and was shocked that they worked. As the man in the video suggested, I also made it a point to read the labels. This practice helped me understand the product's compatibility, ensuring I made the right purchase.I have read several articles about Dollar stores. Some say they will be closing. Others say they are just going to be raising prices again. Despite rising prices in today's economy, they are the best buy in town. When I shop there, sometimes I spend $14; other times I pay $38. Few can remember this.....The Roseann Motel-Restaurant in Searcy AR. was a popular spot and this menu opens and prices the food.  Hamburger 35 cents, coffee 10 cents and it goes on and on with those cheap, cheap prices of food.  It is now for sale on ebay.  If the Historical Society does not have a copy, it should have one. Friday Flags: Jarjura's,  A Waterbury CT Year-Round Farmers MarketThe flag for this week was easy to spot as the wind was blustery. It stood outside a Waterbury CT Landmark at the edge of the parking lot of Jarjura's Farm Market.Established in 1917, this market has been selling wholesale and retail fresh fruits and vegetables all over the State of CT, and in 1993 opened its retail outlet.To this day it is a family run operation, and they stock the retail side with produce regularly and often items not found in some of the larger stores in the area.https://youtu.be/jG8AC0J3xaQThe market is just off the downtown area and astride the highway that traverses through the town.My wife shops here regularly and I will get our garden plants here when the time comes in May. Friday Flags: Jarjura's... 04/12/2024
