Zoom Call 11.28.23 Margaret Rome Scams in Real EstateThe Zoom call this week, for those in attendance, was a walk down a horrible memory lane for anyone that has been in the business for a while. Margaret Rome started her call noting that many of us would understand the nature of the scams, but as it is inevitable that a scam form will reappear at some point, new agents need to be given the defenses to protect themselves and their clients.People will always be anxious to get into their real estate adventures. This anxiousness is the fodder for some to steal from them. With the presence of the Internet, it gets easier for them to be scammed. Craigslist is fertile territory for scammers and especially with rentals.  People using agents to help them will get frustrated when their agents don...

By Frank Worrell, Turning BPOs Into Six-Figure Incomes
(BPOS FOR LIFE LLC)
In the rollercoaster world of real estate, there's one thing you can always count on: Broker Price Opinions (BPOs). It doesn't matter if the market's on a high, buzzing with people buying, selling, and refinancing homes, or if it's hit a low with short sales and foreclosures everywhere – BPOs are always there, steady as a rock. Let's dive into why BPOs are such a reliable part of the real estate world, no matter what's happening in the market.**1. When the Market's Booming**Think about those times when the real estate market is like a hot cake – properties are selling like crazy, and everyone seems to be refinancing. In these busy times, BPOs are super handy. They're a quick, affordable way to figure out how much a property is worth, which is perfect when deals are being made left, righ...

By Frank Worrell, Turning BPOs Into Six-Figure Incomes
(BPOS FOR LIFE LLC)
In the world of real estate, Broker Price Opinions (BPOs) have emerged as a lucrative side hustle, offering a blend of flexibility and financial reward. However, what many don't realize is that BPOs can be more than just a sporadic gig; they can be a steady source of passive income. This is where BPOS For Life LLC steps in, transforming the BPO hustle into a sustainable, long-term business opportunity. The Misconception of BPOs as Short-Term GigsTraditionally, BPOs are seen as a quick, one-off task for real estate professionals. The reality, however, is quite different. BPO companies value consistency and reliability. They are on the lookout for go-to experts who can deliver quality work consistently. This is where the opportunity lies for those looking to make BPOs a more significant p...

Isn't it interesting how some people here in the Rain are identifiable by a single name? Is there any other Nina?  Is there any other Roy? (There probably is somewhere but not like Nina  Hollander and Roy Kelley, whom we all know and keep dear to our hearts!) So - why am I waxing rhapsodic over Nina and Roy?  Because..... This past winter I was driving home from an appointment in Bowie and my phone rang.  Since I am old school, I answered it (hands free of course) and got to talk to Nina.  She had some clients moving to the Charlotte area and they had to sell their home in Bowie/Laurel area.  She asked if I worked in that area - and I was able to say -Yes!  In fact I was just there.   What a perfect match!  Nina introduced me to her wonderful clients.  I sold their home before it even w...

For blogging to work for you,  you have to succeed in gaining attention (be it bots or humans) and there are multiple factors involved, and a big part of it comes down to various eye tests. If you're in a community such as this one, the rules of gaining engagement may be different than when writing for the consumer, but the fundamentals remain much the same.1.  Have a title that catches the eye  My Tuesday posts have strictly been of the Ask An Ambassador series for years.  I would hope by this point that the AAA lead-in is sufficient for some to check out what's inside, but if not, what comes after has to do the job.  Be it wordplay, clickbait style words/phrases (Ultimate, Complete, Shocking), a keyword that you know your audience reacts to (e.g. Zillow anyone??).If you're after consum...
