7/11/08  " Valley View Fire" 11  Homes and 10 outbuildings were lost last night to a raging fire in the Spokane Valley. Approximatley 1000 acres burned. Many homes had private driveways and were very expensive. A personal friend of ours lost her home to this fire. My prayers go out to the families who lost their homes. I was impressed by the quick response for shelter, and it seemed there was a clear safety plan for both people and animals. The news coverage was excellent (especially channel 4 KXLY)  www.kxly.com and no lives were lost which is the most important thing. The fire is still burning (July 11th 2008) and hopefully will be under enough control so more homes are not destoyed. SPECIAL THANKS to our  Spokane  area firefighters and volunteers.
