As you can see in the picture, this is a replica of an artesian well located in downtown Pullman.  It also goes on to say that Pullman had 20 such wells and that it was one of the reasons we were picked to host what is now Washington State University.

Sometimes you have to stop and smell the roses.  Today has been a hectic one.  I had a out of town buyer in the morning, and I needed to go up the CUB to get some papers for an offer I am presenting for a buyer this afternoon during my lunch.  I find that Real Estate, much like farming for which we are known for on the Palouse, is one that requires you to work when then the work is there.  As the saying goes, you have to make hay while the sun is shining.   Today as I was madly  scurrying back from the cub I was walking across our WSU Campus.  It is an absolutely gorgeous day in Pullman.  I would suspect it was in the 60's as I found myself trekking across campus.  I found the day to be a gorgeous one and the WSU clock tower looked so especially beautiful against the clear blue fall sky...

College Hill in Pullman Washington has both a real estate market for single family homes, condos and townhouses as well as investment properties as you can well imagine due to its proximity to Washington State University.   This year we have seen more activity in the single family homes, condos and townhouses than in the Investment property side.   I know that I have personally brought the buyers to two single family homes that are uniquely situated within walking distance to WSU but still maintaining a quiet neighborhood feel.  In fact, I was recently invited to one new buyers home in the area for a neighborhood Ice Cream Social.  It was really great to see such a great sense of community. College Hill in Pullman Washington has both a market for single family homes, condos and townhous...

Fire and Ice.  That is the topic of todays blog to get your home ready for the Fall and Winter Months.   Let's start with Fire, shall we?  Because our winters in Pullman Washington are cold, lots of homes have fireplaces.  I know mine does, and I love snuggling up in front of the fire.  In fact, once I do, I have the dickens of the time breaking aways from it's mesmerizing warmth.  But you need to remember that dangerous creosote builds up in a fireplace with use.  So before those cold days set in, you should get that chimney cleaned.  I don't know if you have ever seen a chimney fire, but I have, and they are Scary.  This is one of those things you want to do annually. Ice.  Not something you want hanging from your gutters come winter.  In fact, it can lead to ice dams on your roof whi...

Many Homeowners in Pullman Washington this year are first time home buyers.  I know that I have personally had several clients that fit into this category.  With colder temperatures approaching I wanted to put together some tips for both new homeowners as well as some tips for existing homeowners who are marketing their home for sale.  Today's tip is really for both! Tip of the Day ~ Think Warm! With the thermometer dipping it is time to pay attention to the Heat in your house! Now is the time to change that furnace filter!  This is one of the most common overlooked and easiest things you can do.  Do you know how often you should change your filter?  Ideally, you should change it monthly. It will keep your furnace working more efficiently, and thus, save you money.  So next time you are...

The other day I came out of my office at Beasley and looked down Pullman's Main Street.  It struck me how beautiful Pullman can be in the Fall. These trees were planted years ago and line our streets providing such a great small hometown feel.  I walk under them all the time, but often don't stop to appreciate how beautiful they really are.  I am usually in a hurry off to meet with a buyer or seller or heading home from work.   But today...they just kind of jumped out and grabbed me demanding my attention.  And I am glad they did. Somehow, this is a typical picture of my beloved hometown of Pullman.  Please enjoy!

A Pullman Real Estate Realtor® is one of the many hats I wear everyday. My days typically start with studying the real estate markets both in my area in Pullman Washington and Moscow Idaho, but I also enjoy reading about markets around the country. If you know me well at all, you know I am a dedicated blogger andI enjoy reading blogs as well from Realtors all around our country.     Of course, the main part of my day is centered around my buyers and sellers. Top priority is always those buyers and sellers who need immediate attention due to contracts.   But there is always lots to do for my sellers from marketing for my sellers, or following up with showings from other agents, as well as checking up on homes, flyer boxes....and the list goes on.   And for my buyers, there are always ap...

As we are in the middle of October, I thought it would be a great time to look at our Pullman Washington Real Estate Market this year thus far. As you can see, we have Sold 120 Single Family Homes in Pullman, with 106 still Actively on the Market, and 12 Homes still Pending.   This year I have seen many buyers take advantage of the low rates and great prices in our Pullman real estate market.   Is the market for selling and buying homes in Pullman over for this?  I don't think so.  I know I am still personally showing homes this coming week.  So I am seeing that buyers are still looking! Fortunately the weather  is cooperating and that sure helps! The homes that I have typically seen move are those that are priced right, and show well.  The majoritiy of homes that I have personally so...

Thinking Home Improvement in Pullman Washington this weekend?  You might be thinking this post written by a Realtor in Pullman is about getting your home ready for sale.  Not quite.  This weekend Home Improvement takes on a different spin, the Tim Allen spin.  Tim Allen is doing a live show this weekend for our annual Washington State University Dad's Weekend.   The show is scheduled for Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 8:30 at the Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum.  This is just one of many events that will be happening in Pullman this weekend.  From Football to comedy and everything in between, we have lots going on!  The streets are packed with cars coming into town...and although I don't live too near campus, I can hear the pep rallys and band playing.  Looks like a fun weekend in Pullm...

Buying a Pullman Washington Home has its advantages.  I have two new buyers who just recently settled into their new home.  They live in a great College Hill Neighborhood.  And I have always known it was a great neighborhood filled with working professionals, professors and staff at Washington State University.  But last night I experienced first hand what a great neighborhood it really is! You see, my buyers invited me to their Ice Cream Social.  I was running a bit late as Pullman is overflowing with Homecoming activities.  Getting through the checkout lines and through down town took a bit longer than usual...our usual 10 minutes anyway.  When I arrived the house was overflowing.  I rather expected to see family and new friends since their move to Pullman.   Instead, I found a neighb...

Many think that the Pullman Real Estate Market comes to screeching halt in the Fall.  But not so.  Sure, the bulk of properties come on the market in Pullman in early Spring.  But there are still many folks out there still looking for homes in the Fall.  And with less homes to chose from, you want your home to stand out above the rest!  Here are three tips for marketing your home into Fall that won't break the bank!     1.  Light it up!    The most important one that many folks don't think about is the shorter days.  Just a few weeks ago we had those longer summer evenings.  But now night is falling quicker each day.   Make sure you turn that porch light on.  And now with gardening sales in full swing, pick up some solar powered garden lights and line your walk way.  And don't forget...

Fall is officially here in Pullman Washington.  The weather is absolutely beautiful too!  Today my daughter-in-law took the baby for a walk.  The temperatures were in the 70's and absolutely gorgeous.  You would never know it is fall quite yet!  The only signs are the beginning tinges of color in the burning bushes lining Washington State University. The fall real estate market is also officially here as well.  Today I showed homes to some lovely buyers.  Tomorrow investment properties to one buyer and a rural property to another buyer.  I was surprised to hear a seller from one of the properties I showed today is taking his house off the market.  He told me the market is officially over for this year.  I hate to beg to differ, but as you can see....I am still showing properties!  And y...

Tug of War.  That is what I saw the other day as I was home sick from work. Anyone who knows me at all knows I am a high energy girl. Always have been. Hope I always am.  Last week I came home not feeling well. The next day I was pretty much shot.  So I stayed home and did just what I needed to do via my iphone...while I tried to rest. Let me reiterate...I am NOT a good sick person.  I just CAN'T stand to lay in bed.  So I got up and flipped aimlessly through the channels.  Where did I stop...HGTV of course!   I watched a program about First Time Buyers back to back with First Time Home Sellers.  What really jumped out at me was the unwillingness of both parties to set reasonable goals or objectives.  The First Time Home Buyers were insistent that the Seller fix everything mentioned in...

Today as I drove home from the office following a torrential rain storm that hit Pullman Washington this afternoon, I saw something that really caught my eye.  The clouds were so dark...and yet through them this little sliver of the brightest blue sky I had ever seen peaked through. It reminded me of these challenging times for so many.  The news is full of tragedies and doom and gloom.  But, occasionally, a bright blue sky peeks through.   I had thought of stopping to get a picture, but was anxious to get home after meeting with a client at the office.  And besides, I had just tried to capture pictures of the rain as it was pounding down...so I was satisfied and went my way home. I was relaxing a bit after starting dinner and my phone rang.  The number  looked familiar but wasn't in ...
